Matt LeBlanc has become the first of the main cast members of Friends to share a tribute to Matthew Perry following his former co-star\u2019s death<\/a> at the age of 54.<\/span><\/p>\n

LeBlanc shared a number of photos of him and Perry<\/a> on the set of the hit NBC sitcom on Instagram<\/a>, writing in the caption: \u201cIt is with a heavy heart I say goodbye. The times we had together are honestly among the favourite times of my life.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

He continued: \u201cIt was an honour to share the stage with you and to call you my friend. I will always smile when I think of you and I\u2019ll never forget you. Never.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cSpread your wings and fly brother you\u2019re finally free. Much love.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

He concluded: \u201cAnd I guess you\u2019re keeping the 20 bucks you owe me.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

It comes after LeBlanc, <\/span>Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow and David Schwimmer issued a joint statement paying tribute to Perry.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWe are all so utterly devastated by the loss of Matthew,\u201d the actors wrote. \u201cWe were more than just castmates. We are a family. There is so much to say, but right now we\u2019re going to take a moment to grieve and process this unfathomable loss. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIn time we will say more, as and when we are able. For now, our thoughts and our love are with Matty\u2019s family, his friends and everyone who loved him around the world.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Perry passed away in October after an apparent drowning at his home in Los Angeles.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The cause of Perry\u2019s death<\/a> has been listed as \u201cdeferred\u201d on the coroner\u2019s website as it awaits a toxicology report.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

He was best known for his role as Chandler throughout the entirety of Friends, which aired from 1994 to 2004.<\/span><\/p>\n

Perry was open about his struggles with substance abuse and addiction during filming, and also set up a sober living facility for men battling similar issues after the show came to a close.<\/span><\/p>\n

In an <\/span>interview<\/span><\/a> back in 2022, the star admitted that he had never watched the series, saying: <\/span>\u201cI didn\u2019t watch the show, and haven\u2019t watched the show, because I could go, \u2018Drinking, opiates, drinking, cocaine.\u2019 <\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI could tell season by season, by how I looked. That\u2019s why I don\u2019t wanna watch it, because that\u2019s what I see.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cBut I think I\u2019m going to start to watch it because it\u2019s been an incredible thing to watch it touch the hearts of different generations.\u201d<\/span><\/p> <\/body><\/html>\n
