The ongoing eighth season continues on Wednesday 15th November. <\/p>
This week\u2019s episode of Shetland<\/a> sees new lead detective Ruth Calder (Ashley Jensen) question Tosh (Alison O\u2019Donnell) about her role as \u201ctemporary\u201d DI following the departure of DI Jimmy Perez (Douglas Henshall)<\/a>.<\/p>\n In a first-look clip, Calder can be seen asking why her new role hasn\u2019t been made official, with the fan favourite character reassuring her that it isn\u2019t because she failed any exams.<\/p>\n \u201cSo, what\u2019s the issue?\u201d Calder asks, before Tosh explains that it\u2019s because she\u2019d have to leave to work somewhere else before she could come back to Shetland, and that she doesn\u2019t want to uproot her family.<\/p> \u00a0<\/p>\n She adds that Calder probably thinks that\u2019s \u201cpathetic\u201d and \u201cbad feminism\u201d, but her new boss tells her, \u201cI don\u2019t think wanting your family to be happy counts as bad feminism.\u201d<\/p>\n Tosh then turns the tables to ask Calder a question of her own regarding her father, but before she can answer, she notices something that urgently turns their attention back to the case at hand.<\/p>\n You can watch the clip in full below.<\/p>
