It\u2019s only a matter of days now until Doctor Who<\/a> fans finally get to watch the anticipated run of 60th anniversary episodes<\/a> for themselves.<\/p>\n Fans can\u2019t wait to get a glimpse of The Star Beast<\/a>, Wild Blue Yonder and The Giggle, with the episodes set for release over the coming weeks.<\/p>\n And it seems as though there\u2019s plenty to look forward to, according to former Doctor Colin Baker, who has revealed his verdict on the new episodes which see the return of showrunner Russell T Davies and lead actor David Tennant<\/a>, who will be starring as a different version of the Doctor to his previous Tenth.<\/p>\n Best known for playing the Sixth incarnation of the Doctor in the long-running sci-fi series, Baker told Film Stories<\/a> that he was \u201cblown away\u201d by the first 60th anniversary episode, The Star Beast.<\/p> Baker said: \u201cI was at the preview a couple of nights ago. It was the first [new] David Tennant story\u2026 And whereas my lips are sealed about content and all other things, they\u2019re not sealed about saying I was blown away.<\/p>\n \u201cDavid has grabbed it with both hands, and anyone who doesn\u2019t see it has my sympathy.\u201d<\/p>\n Read more:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n Davies is returning to helm the series as showrunner, with fans excited to see how the series will advance under his guidance \u2013 and it seems as though Baker couldn\u2019t be more full of praise for the writer after watching The Star Beast.<\/p>\n Baker admitted: \u201cI love Russell T Davies, the man\u2019s a genius. He did what John Nathan Turner did as a producer in the \u201970s and \u201980s. He\u2019s the man for all seasons.<\/p>\n \u201cThe thing that John didn\u2019t have, that Russell does, is the ability to write magnificent stories and to infuse a nation with a new joy in Doctor Who.\u201d<\/p> \n
