Former Strictly Come Dancing<\/a> professional dancer Vincent Simone has given his verdict on the treatment of Angela Rippon<\/a> over the course of the competition.<\/p>\n

Rippon, 79, wowed audiences and judges with her first dance of the competition<\/a>, with an impressive leg kick that left everyone gasping with shock and excitement of what she had to bring to the Strictly ballroom.<\/p>\n

However, in recent weeks Rippon has found herself in two consecutive dance-offs, with her and dance partner Kai Widdrington being saved on both occasions.<\/p>\n

Speaking on behalf of ICE36<\/a>, Simone weighed in on the broadcaster\u2019s form and treatment on the show.<\/p>

He said: \u201cI think when we get to Angela, I think she\u2019s such a superstar. I think you\u2019d be nice and bow to a woman of that calibre, and obviously, I know we don\u2019t want to say, but to be able to do that at 79, I\u2019m sorry. I don\u2019t know if I\u2019ll be able to make it to that point.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut that\u2019s drifting away, I think there\u2019s too much respect for her. That\u2019s what I feel.\u201d<\/p>\n

Simone, who was Strictly pro from 2006 to 2012, said he feels \u201cout of place\u201d to be \u201cattacking her routine\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think at the end of the day she\u2019s so beautiful to watch and that\u2019s the end of that,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s not about putting the foot wrong or a little hand, there\u2019s more to that. I like watching her. For me, she\u2019s a superstar. So elegant! It\u2019s what a woman should look like. And that\u2019s it. I\u2019ve got just got too much respect for her.\u201d<\/p>\n

As the celebrities get ready to take on Blackpool Week, Rippon and Widdrington will be performing<\/a> an American Smooth to Tea for Two by Ella Fitzgerald.<\/p>\n

This will be Rippon\u2019s first American Smooth of the series, and fans will no doubt he watching on to see if she will find herself in the dreaded dance-off once again.<\/p>
