Kevin McCloud previously said owner Edward Short was still optimistic about selling the property. <\/p>
A Grand Designs<\/a> house which has been dubbed as the \u201csaddest ever\u201d build to appear on the show has dropped its asking price by \u00a33.5 million.<\/p>\n In 2019, viewers saw Edward Short\u2019s decade-long project, Chisel Cliff House in Devon, which left him in millions of pounds of debt<\/a>.<\/p>\n While the property was valued at \u00a310 million, there were seemingly no buyers \u2013 but now it is back on the market.<\/p>\n The lighthouse is now on sale for \u00a36.5 million, as per Knight Frank<\/a>, which is \u00a33.5 million down from its original asking price.<\/p> The property description reads: \u201cWith panoramic views over Saunton Sands and out to sea, this is an exciting opportunity to design your own interior fit-out to one of the UK\u2019s finest waterfront homes.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cEd and I still communicate by email now and again,\u201d he told Metro<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s not always the case you keep in contact with people, but in his case, it was such a special project and we had a lot of shared interests in common and we share a mutual friend.\u201d<\/p>\n McCloud told the publication Short hadn\u2019t given up on selling the property and remained optimistic that it will be bought.<\/p>\n Read more:<\/strong><\/p>\n Talking about the property back in 2022, McCloud told Radio Times magazine <\/strong>the project was \u201cvainglorious\u201d.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n He added: \u201cThe drive to build, to change the world and make in our own image, to improve our environment, all of these things can go too far. And that ambition can destroy the beauty that we strive to find in life.\u201d<\/p>\n\n
