We\u2019ve reached a new era in the MonsterVerse with Monarch: Legacy of Monsters.<\/a><\/p>\n

The new Apple TV+ series<\/a> places Godzilla and various other titans in supporting roles, focusing on the lives of the humans so deeply impacted by them.<\/p>\n

Although we see a new cast taking up the mantle, including Kurt and Wyatt Russell<\/a> playing older and younger versions of the same character, army officer Lee Shaw, there are little references to the past of the MonsterVerse.<\/p>\n

The most prominent one comes in the first episode, with the appearance of MonsterVerse legend John Goodman as Bill Randa.<\/p>\n

Who is Bill Randa in Monarch: Legacy of Monsters?<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Bill Randa first appeared in 2017\u2019s Kong: Skull Island. He initially believes that Godzilla is an abomination and should be eliminated, before starting to see similarities between the Titan and humanity.<\/p>\n

At the end of the film, Randa is killed by a Skullcrawler, but his camera continues to operate \u2013 a key detail that leads into the first episode of Monarch: Legacy of Monsters.<\/p>\n

Randa appears at the beginning of the episode, speaking to his camera, expressing his regret about the mistakes he made and saying he hopes he can leave behind a legacy for the future.<\/p>\n
