The first movie saw Kenan and Kel play Dexter and Ed, teens working at the Good Burger fast food restaurant, with the pair reprising their roles for the new sequel.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe character of Ed has not changed,\u201d Traill said of Mitchell\u2019s character. \u201c<\/span>He now has a family, he\u2019s got a bunch of kids and a wife, but he himself is still the same old Ed.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cAs that doesn\u2019t change, we can just do it again and again and put them in crazier and crazier situations. There\u2019s plans afoot for various different things.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cI don\u2019t think it has to be limited to a trilogy, it can go on.\u201d<\/span><\/p> Good Burger 2 will feature a number of returning cast members from the first film \u2013 including Josh Server (Fizz), Lori Beth Denberg (Connie Muldoon), and Carmen Electra (Roxanne) \u2013 alongside Mitchell and Thompson, with Traill teasing that more classic characters could appear in a threequel.<\/p>\n \u201cWe had lots of people who wanted to be in the movie and lots didn\u2019t work out because of dates,\u201d he explained. \u201cSo hopefully they can come back in Good Burger 3.\u201d<\/span> Traill was born in the US\u00a0<\/span>but is British and lived and worked in the UK in the 1990s \u2013 he explained that while he watched and \u201cloved\u201d the original Good Burger on original release, he wasn\u2019t aware<\/span> \u201cof how insanely popular it was in America.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cAs we were making it, more and more people came to line the streets to watch us filming. Kenan and Kel drove the Burgermobile around town and everywhere they went, we stopped traffic, [people were] screaming in the streets, there were news reports every day from the set\u2026 it was like, \u2018Oh wow, this is really something!\u2019.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cIt slowly dawned on me how many people are looking forward to watching the sequel \u2013 it\u2019s been 25 years that they\u2019ve been waiting for it.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n In particular, fans have a \u201cwarm response\u201d to seeing \u201990s icons Kenan and Kel back together after collaborating on not just the first Good Burger but also the Nickelodeon series All That and Kenan & Kel \u2013 Traill recalled how his original interview for the Good Burger 2 directing job ended up hijacked by enthusiastic fans.<\/p>\n \u201cWhen I first interviewed for the job, it was on a Zoom \u2013 Kel was in his house and Kenan was walking around the streets of Manhattan\u2026<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cI was trying to tell them why I thought I was the right man for the job and people were stopping Kenan in the street \u2013 he waved them over and showed them that Kel was on the phone\u2026<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cWhen they saw Kenan in real life and Kel on Kenan\u2019s phone, they lost their minds. <\/span>I was supposed to be interviewing and I was just watching this, going, \u2018This is incredible\u2019.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n![\"Kel](\"https:\/\/images.immediate.co.uk\/production\/volatile\/sites\/3\/2023\/11\/good-burger-2-9fbc17d.jpg?quality=90&resize=620%2C413\" "\\"good-burger-2\\"\/")
