RT\u00c9\u2019s hit crime drama Kin has begun airing on the BBC following the show\u2019s huge success in Ireland.<\/span><\/p>\n

Written and created by Peter<\/span> McKenna and co-created by Ciar\u00e1n Donnelly, Kin<\/a> follows a war between a small crime family and a huge international cartel, which is sparked by the murder of a young boy,<\/span>\u00a0and stars Aiden Gillen, Charlie Cox and Ciar\u00e1n Hinds.<\/span><\/p>\n

It was announced back in October that the BBC had acquired the RT\u00c9 series, with <\/span>Sue Deeks, head of BBC programme acquisition, saying at the time<\/span>: \u201cAnchored by a tremendous cast, Kin is a powerful and intense story of love, grief, family and crime, and its devastating ramifications.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Jennifer Ebell, executive vice president of Europe, Middle East and Africa sales and acquisitions at Fifth Season, added: \u201cKin aired in Ireland to critical acclaim and has generated record-breaking ratings across both linear and on-demand.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThe series has clocked up more than four million lifetime streams in Ireland, with the second season averaging a 40 per cent audience share in its Sunday-night slot, and its finale becoming the most-viewed programme of the year outside of sport. <\/span><\/p>\n
