As we inch closer to winter, our TV schedules are very quickly being filled up with thrillers, dramas, documentaries and much more.<\/p>\n

Well, in the psychological drama stakes, if you\u2019re looking for something quite dark and shocking, look no further than Channel 4\u2019s The Couple Next Door<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The new drama<\/a> stars\u00a0Poldark\u2019s Eleanor Tomlinson as Evie and Alfred Enoch (How to Get Away with Murder) as her husband Pete.<\/p>\n

The pair move to a new neighbourhood, where they meet Danny (Sam Heughan<\/a>) and Becka (Jessica De Gouw), another married couple who seemingly welcome them into their lives.<\/p>\n

But the psychological thriller doesn\u2019t stop there as, according to the synopsis, they \u201cbecome sexually entangled in a way that will change their lives forever\u201d.<\/p>\n

Discussing those intimate scenes, Tomlinson chatted to Radio Times magazine<\/strong> for this week\u2019s issue. The actress revealed that they worked with a \u201cbrilliant\u201d intimacy coordinator, Vanessa Coffey.<\/p>

Actually, the suggestion to work with Coffey came from Heughan, who had worked with her on Outlander<\/a>\u2019s sex scenes, which have won praise for their sensitivity.<\/p>\n

Tomlinson told Radio Times magazine<\/a>: \u201cEverybody felt comfortable. The way that the sex scenes are shot isn\u2019t necessarily what you would expect. I was keen to get across [the idea] that you can make something just as sexy by implying it.\u201d<\/p>\n

With a star-studded cast and a steamy plot line, fans can\u2019t wait to see what the new series has in store, with Heughan recently revealing that the \u201cstylised\u201d drama is also \u201cvery sexy\u201d and \u201cvery dark\u201d.<\/p>\n

Heughan said: \u201cI think the show is constantly turned on his head. That\u2019s what I loved about it, from the beginning, is this kind of weirdness.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s a stylised show, but it\u2019s very sexy, very dark. And I think people will be disgusted or excited. Everyone\u2019s going to be on different sides on this.\u201d<\/p>\n
In addition to Tomlinson, Heughan, Enoch and De Gouw, the series also stars Hugh Dennis<\/a> as a \u2018peeping tom\u2019 who lives in the neighbourhood, with Kate Robbins cast as his wife.<\/p>\n
