He added that she was \u201cso much fun to work with\u201d and explained that she wrote the film\u2019s standout track, This Wish, first, while the script for the movie was still coming together.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe gave her like a paragraph \u2013 we were still working on the story, trying to figure it all out,\u201d he explained. \u201cBut we had just the beginning idea of that moment\u2026 sort of like, why would she wish on this star and what she was wishing for?<\/p>\n
\u201cAnd so she just knocked it out of the park, gave us that first song, and we were so excited because we knew the potential of the whole soundtrack at that point.\u201d<\/p>
Meanwhile, Chris Pine \u2013 who voices the film\u2019s antagonist King Magnifico \u2013 was equally impressed with the soundtrack, telling RadioTimes.com<\/strong> that \u201call the music was catchy to me\u201d.<\/p>\nHe added: \u201cI\u2019m just quite stunned by Julia and Ben and their ability to make music the way they do, great pop music. It\u2019s such an art form that I don\u2019t really understand, and to witness them create it and change it and work with it and craft it and perfect it was really quite great.<\/p>\n
\u201cI love my villain song [This Is The Thanks I Get?!] and I really love the duet that I have with Ariana [DeBose, At All Costs] and everything that she does. It\u2019s not my forte, any of this, so I\u2019m kind of in awe of everyone else.\u201d<\/p>\n
