Melissa Barrera has been dropped from Scream 7 after sharing a series of Instagram posts about the Israel-Hamas war.<\/span><\/p>\n The actor joined the iconic horror franchise in 2022, appearing in its fifth and sixth films alongside Jenna Ortega<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n While there had been no official word on the cast of Scream 7<\/a> yet, Barrera<\/a> had been expected to reprise her role as Sam Carpenter, the older sister of Tara Carpenter (Ortega).<\/span><\/p>\n On Tuesday (21st November), a spokesperson for Spyglass, the studio behind the Scream films, explained in a statement to Variety<\/a> that Barrera has been dropped from Scream 7.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cSpyglass\u2019s stance is unequivocally clear: We have zero tolerance for antisemitism or the incitement of hate in any form, including false references to genocide, ethnic cleansing, Holocaust distortion or anything that flagrantly crosses the line into hate speech,\u201d the statement read.<\/span><\/p>\n In one Instagram post, Barrera wrote<\/a>, <\/span>\u201cWestern media only shows the [Israeli] side. Why do they do that, I will let you deduce for yourself,\u201d adding, \u201cWe don\u2019t need more hate. No Islamophobia.
