Paul Sinha, Anne Hegerty, Jenny Ryan and the rest of the Chasers will face contestants together in the new Beat the Chasers \u2013 and here’s how they prepared. <\/p>
A new series of Beat the Chasers returns this weekend, with long-term host Bradley Walsh back on presenting duties.<\/p>\n
Back in August, RadioTimes.com<\/a><\/strong> exclusively revealed Beat the Chasers series three would feature a new twist<\/a>\u00a0to its classic format: contestants will face all six chasers at once.<\/p>\n Now, the Chasers have revealed what it was like to team up ahead of the new season\u2019s release, and the team tactics they employed.<\/p>\n \u201cIt was very exciting \u2014 not least because Darragh [Ennis]\u2019s exceptional science knowledge meant we all stepped up as a team,\u201d Paul Sinha, who returns after an absence due to illness, said.<\/p>\n He also revealed the Chasers had gone as far as to develop and agree on team tactics to rattle the fresh batch of contestants.<\/p> \u201cI\u2019m certainly not going to reveal team tactics! But we certainly had them,\u201d the Sinnerman teased. \u201cNonetheless, when that clock\u2019s ticking down, it was hard to remember them.\u201d<\/p>\n Luckily, his fellow Chaser were a little more forthcoming.<\/p>\n \u201cOur rule of thumb is, \u2018Think, then buzz \u2013 don\u2019t buzz then think!\u2019\u201d Jenny \u2018The Vixen\u2019 Ryan revealed. \u201cWe all want to be quick on the buzzer but we\u2019ve been training ourselves out of the tendency to rush, and make sure we leave each question for the right person to answer.<\/p>\n \u201cWe\u2019ve got ourselves in trouble before, so we are all about accuracy over absolute speed this series.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n Darragh \u2018The Menace\u2019 Ennis added: \u201cThe other thing is that we all have our specialities and you don\u2019t jump in on someone else\u2019s specialist subject unless you\u2019re 100 per cent sure you know the answer.\u201d<\/p>\n Anne \u2018The Governess\u2019 Hegerty appeared to contradict him, however, when she said: \u201cWe made vague attempts to agree tactics, but it\u2019s rather like herding cats. Tactics only come into it if you\u2019re not sure \u2013 if you are sure, always buzz in!\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n Beat the Chasers returns on Saturday 11th September at 8.30pm on ITV.
