The Witcher creator Andrzej Sapkowski has revealed that when he offered input for Netflix<\/a>\u2018s adaptation of his fantasy series, none of his ideas were taken up.<\/p>\n Sapkowski wrote the original The Witcher<\/a> novel in 1990, and since then he has published eight more novels within the same Witcher universe<\/a>, with the streamer now working on a fourth season of the fantasy series.<\/p>\n The Netflix show originally starred Henry Cavill as Geralt<\/a>, but he has now left the role, with Liam Hemsworth now set to lead the series in season 4.<\/p>\n In an interview with YouTube channel Cerealkillerz<\/a> (via Variety<\/a>) at Vienna Comic Con, The Witcher creator revealed he visited the set and gave his input for the series, but said that none of his ideas were used.<\/p>\n \u201cThe set was tremendous. Tremendous\u2026 I gave them some ideas, but they never listened to me,\u201d Sapkowski said, as he laughed. \u201cIt\u2019s normal. \u2018Who\u2019s this? It\u2019s a writer. It\u2019s nobody.’\u201d<\/p> However, Sapkowski admitted that this wasn\u2019t an unusual thing for him. The author has written a number of books which have been adapted, including into a video game<\/a> series.<\/p>\n He explained: \u201cMy raw material when I work is only letters. I don\u2019t describe pictures. I don\u2019t see any pictures. I use the letters only because I know my reader will see the letters only.<\/p>\n \u201cI look at these and say, \u2018Whoa! This is the way they picture it. Interesting!\u2019 Sometimes it\u2019s very nice for me, sympathetic. Sometimes it isn\u2019t. But I will not elaborate.\u201d<\/p>\n The Witcher has been renewed for a fourth season, but Netflix is yet to announce when the next batch of episodes could arrive to the streamer.<\/p>
