Ellie’s Argentine Tango to Destiny’s Child was the highlight of the night for many. <\/p>
It wouldn\u2019t be a week of Strictly Come Dancing<\/a> without some suitable fanfare around the judges\u2019 comments now, would it?<\/p>\n This week\u2019s Saturday night episode saw the couples try to prove their worth ahead of next week\u2019s exciting semi-final and while things are heating up for all involved, things were taken to dizzying new heights on the dance floor with the help of Ellie Leach<\/a>.<\/p>\n Along with her professional partner Vito Coppola, Leach took on the mighty dance task of executing the near-perfect Argentine Tango routine<\/a> to Destiny\u2019s Child\u2019s Bills, Bills, Bills.<\/p>\n While the song choice and routine were simply iconic for many, the routine received some unexpected criticism from the judges. The routine, which is notably an intense and intimate one, certainly gave presenter Tess Daly goosebumps but when going to the judges for their reactions, Anton Du Beke wasn\u2019t holding back.<\/p>\n \u201cAs we expect from you, it was clean, it was brilliant \u2026 I felt, if we\u2019re being hypercritical and we are at that stage, it lacked a bit of intensity. I mean, it did. It looked a little bit like \u2018Here we go, a bit of that and a bit of that\u2019,\u201d Anton said while gesturing about their dance moves. But he concluded: \u201cI have to say, you are brilliant.\u201d<\/p> While the boos from the audience definitely signalled that many fans disagreed with Anton\u2019s comments, Craig Revel Horwood certainly didn\u2019t hold back from further criticism.<\/p>\n He said: \u201cI didn\u2019t think it lacked intensity, I thought it lacked intimacy. The A frame on this dance, I felt, on occasion, that was missing, it didn\u2019t look like an Argentine Tango because of that. But it was incredible and as Anton said, it was as clean as a whistle.\u201d<\/p>\n And it\u2019s safe to say that those comments from Anton and Craig didn\u2019t go down a storm with viewers, who were quick to air their opinions over on Twitter (which has rebranded as X).<\/p>\n One viewer wrote<\/a>: \u201cThe way I just screeched WHAT at anton saying ellie and vito lacked intensity.\u201d<\/p>\n Similarly, another fan disagreed with the judge\u2019s comments, writing<\/a>: \u201cI am so confused because honestly if someone asked me to use two adjectives to describe Ellie and Vito\u2019s Argentine Tango it was \u2018Intense\u2019 and \u2018Intimate\u2019. Oh, and \u2018Perfect\u2019.\u201d<\/p>\n Read more:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n But it was also part of an ongoing issue some fans have had with scoring on Strictly, with one fan writing<\/a>: \u201cI\u2019ve lost count of how many performances from Ellie and Vito should have been perfect 40\u2026 I mean what more do they want?\u201d<\/p>\n While fans and judges may be divided about specific comments, there\u2019s no denying the routine certainly made an impact in tonight\u2019s episode, with the routine going on to be the highest score of the night.<\/p>\n As one Twitter user<\/a> put it: \u201cI\u2019ve watched Ellie & Vito\u2019s Argentine Tango three times now and it\u2019s just incredible. Straight into my hall of fame.\u201d<\/p>\n As of now, the leaderboard sees Ellie at the top of the leaderboard with Eastenders star Bobby Brazier in a close second after his emotional tribute to late mother Jade Goody<\/a> saw the judges in tears and a standing ovation from the audience.<\/p>\n It\u2019s really all to play for as we await the public\u2019s decision, especially seeing as fan-favourite Brazier was in last week\u2019s bottom two.
