Tennant made a surprise appearance to read out the Strictly Come Dancing terms and conditions. <\/p>

It\u2019s the night that many Doctor Who<\/a> fans have been waiting for as David Tennant<\/a> returned as the Fourteenth Doctor alongside his trusty companion, Donna Noble (Catherine Tate).<\/p>\n

Airing on Saturday, The Star Beast<\/a> came on right before Strictly Come Dancing<\/a>, with contestants vying for the top spot and their place in next week\u2019s semi-final.<\/p>\n

The Strictly episode got underway with the first dance of the night by Layton Williams<\/a> and Nikita Kuzmin, which garnered a mixed response from the judges. But after their routine, it was of course time for the Strictly terms and conditions to be read out.<\/p>\n

As usual, the segment is read out by a surprise guest each week and befitting the return of Tennant as Doctor, it was only right that the man himself made an appearance.<\/p>\n

Tennant\u2019s pre-recorded segment came from in front of the TARDIS<\/a> as he read out the terms and conditions and while only a small appearance, was enough to send fans into excited overdrive, especially as he cheers-ed the screen with a TARDIS mug in hand.<\/p>

Taking to Twitter (which has recently rebranded as X) to talk about Tennant\u2019s appearance, one fan wrote<\/a>: \u201cDavid Tennant doing the Strictly voting terms and conditions? This is HIS NIGHT.\u201d<\/p>\n

Another posted a gif of an excited Oprah, writing alongside it<\/a>: \u201cdavid tennant on strictly?!?\u201d<\/p>\n

It wasn\u2019t long before Tennant\u2019s appearance on Strictly Come Dancing started lighting up further crossover ideas in some fan\u2019s minds. One fan said<\/a>: \u201cSo, when is David Tennant going to do <\/span>#Strictly<\/span> #ThingsWeAllNeed\u201d while another<\/a> outlined what many were thinking: \u201cI really want David Tennant on Strictly, even if it\u2019s a one off. Think he\u2019d be terrific <\/span>#Strictly\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

But with back-to-back Doctor Who, one fan summed it up fittingly, writing: \u201cThis evening is sponsored by David Tennant.\u201d<\/p>\n

The first of three 60th anniversary episodes signals the return of Tennant and Tate, but also Donna\u2019s mother Sylvia Noble, played by Jacqueline King.<\/p>\n
Speaking exclusively to\u00a0 RadioTimes.com<\/a> about her return to the sci-fi series with Tate and Tennant, King said: \u201cThey are such lovely, genuinely lovely people, superb actors who I stand in the wake of and our parts had been written so clearly by Russell T Davies and he knows us so well and so brilliantly that we all just felt that we were putting on the old pair of shoes again and off we went.\u201d<\/p>\n
King added: \u201cIt\u2019s very much taking us into the future and taking us in an exciting route through different media and then, of course, we will launch into the next Doctor Who and it will progress from there. So I\u2019m just hoping that people won\u2019t think it\u2019s too much going backwards and that it\u2019s helping the forward propulsion of the series.\u201d<\/p>
