Landing on our screens tonight (Monday 27th November), Channel 4\u2019s The Couple Next Door<\/a> is set to be your next steamy series obsession.<\/p>\n

The new drama<\/a> stars Outlander<\/a>\u2018s Sam Heughan and Poldark<\/a>\u2018s Eleanor Tomlinson, and is also written by David Allison, whose previous work includes\u00a0ITV\u2019s Marcella<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Channel 4\u2019s Suspect<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Couple Next Door follows \u201ca couple that move to a new neighbourhood and meet their neighbours\u2026 who happen to be swingers\u201d. But really, as with any good drama, that\u2019s only part of what\u2019s to come.<\/p>\n

As per the synopsis:\u00a0\u201cAs time goes on, these two couples get increasingly close to each other, but one fateful night, become sexually entangled in a way that will change their lives forever\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n

The drama itself takes place in the lovely neighbourhood which Evie (Tomlinson) and Pete (Alfred Enoch) move to, but where exactly was The Couple Next Door filmed? Read on to find out.<\/p>

The Channel 4 series is a remake of a 2014\u00a0Dutch\u00a0show called Nieuwe Buren (New Neighbours), but The Couple Next Door was not filmed in The Netherlands or solely in the UK.<\/p>\n

Actually, the \u201cupscale neighbourhood\u201d in the drama was shot in both Leeds<\/strong> and Belgium<\/strong> this year.<\/p>\n

Some scenes were shot on Baildon Moor<\/strong> near Bradford in Yorkshire.<\/p>\n

The six-part drama revolves around Evie and Pete\u2019s move to their new neighbourhood and their new neighbours, Danny (Heughan) and Becka (Jessica De Gouw). Other cast members also include Hugh Dennis (Outnumbered) and Kate Robbins (After Life).<\/p>\n

But as tensions between the couples start to escalate, there is a fair share of curtain twitching and anxieties about status and reputation in this not-so-small neighbourhood. It has been billed as a \u201cdeliciously dark, psychological drama, exploring the stultifying claustrophobia of suburbia and the fallout of chasing your darkest desires\u201d.<\/p>\n

Speaking about the show, Heughan teased it as a \u201cstylised\u201d drama that is also \u201cvery sexy\u201d and \u201cvery dark\u201d.<\/p>\n

He said: \u201cI think the show is constantly turned on his head. That\u2019s what I loved about it, from the beginning, is this kind of weirdness.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s a stylised show, but it\u2019s very sexy, very dark. And I think people will be disgusted or excited. Everyone\u2019s going to be on different sides on this.\u201d<\/p>
