The pair have been working together ever since the latter reluctantly returned to the Isles to investigate a gangland shooting. They seemed to have gotten into a rhythm before Tosh (Alison O\u2019Donnell) asked Ruth (Ashley Jensen) to leave the investigation in last week\u2019s episode, and it seems they\u2019re bound for another disagreement in tonight\u2019s instalment.<\/p>\n
In an trailer exclusive to RadioTimes.com<\/a>, the duo seem to have different approaches to the latest development in their case, which involves Ruth\u2019s old flame Cal (played by Jamie Sives in the Shetland cast<\/a>).<\/p>\n Viewers will recall that Cal\u2019s van swerved off the road in last week\u2019s episode, but not before he left Ruth a message suggesting Bobby Bain (Russ Bain) was hiding something.<\/p> The teaser clip, which you can watch above, appears to confirm what we all suspected \u2013 that Cal did in fact perish in the car accident. A distressed Ruth calls for Bobby Bain to be brought in, but Tosh seems more concerned about Ruth\u2019s emotional state.<\/p>\n Well, it certainly looks like Tosh is sticking to her guns and is determined to keep Ruth off the case. And she has a point.<\/p>\n From keeping her potential personal connection to Ellen Quinn (Maisie Norma Seaton) a secret, to wanting to go after Bobby even if it\u2019s too soon, Ruth\u2019s first case back in Shetland is definitely hitting a little too close to home.<\/p>\n Read more:<\/strong><\/p>\n We\u2019re certain she\u2019ll crack it, however, and the pair will reach some common ground soon enough.<\/p>\n Jensen joined the cast this season in the wake of Douglas Henshall<\/a>\u2018s exit.
