Who murdered Ellen Quinn? Over the course of Shetland season 8<\/a>, multiple suspects have been ruled out, from gangsters John Howell and Lukas Nowak to plumber Peter Ayre and Ellen\u2019s best friend Rosemary Strachan, the local sheep killer.<\/p>\n But in tonight\u2019s episode (Wednesday 29th November), a harrowing reveal saw the police move one step closer to uncovering the person \u2013 or persons \u2013 responsible for her death.<\/p>\n While consultant psychologist Azir Sandat<\/span> was being questioned by Tosh, he <\/span>admitted that Ellen had turned up at his house on the night of her death.<\/span><\/p>\n Ellen\u2019s mental health had severely deteriorated due to witnessing the death of Azir and Farida\u2019s child, Akmal. The tragedy occurred while Azir was at work and Farida was sleeping after taking some unprescribed pills her husband had given to her.<\/p>\n Read more:<\/strong><\/p>\n Heather Bain, who was cleaning the Sadat\u2019s house that day alongside Ellen, told them that if they reported the truth \u2013 that Azir had illegally supplied his wife with prescription drugs and she had willingly taken them \u2013 they would lose everything, so they followed her lead.<\/p>\n Ellen, by contrast, wanted to tell the truth.<\/p>\n \u201cAs soon as we started lying, she had us,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n After Akmal\u2019s memorial, Heather asked them for some money, \u201cmade it sound like a loan\u201d, and had been doing so ever since.<\/p>\n When Ellen arrived at the Sadat\u2019s house in the hours leading up to her death, she told Azir she was in trouble and needed money to escape Shetland, but he refused to give her what she wanted. When Ellen became angry, he said he would try and find her some cash in the morning.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n She then left, but Azir claimed he was still worried for her welfare and drove after her. When she climbed into his car, he asked her where she wanted to go.<\/p>\n \u201cI told her I\u2019d take her anywhere,\u201d he said.<\/p> Tosh looked concerned.<\/p>\n \u201cWhere did you take Ellen?\u201d she asked.<\/p>\n It was the next piece of the puzzle that made her blood run cold.<\/p>\n At the end of the episode, the detective was joined by Ruth and Sandy at the scene of the crime.<\/p>\n \u201cThey\u2019re all lying,\u201d said Tosh, standing at the top of the Bain\u2019s driveway. \u201cEllen came home that night.\u201d<\/p>\n What happened inside the house?
