Nigel Harman has quit Strictly Come Dancing<\/a> just hours ahead of tonight\u2019s live show (Saturday, 2nd December).<\/span><\/p>\n

The EastEnders and Casualty star was due to dance a Charleston to Step in Time from Mary Poppins with his professional partner Katya Jones during the quarter finals.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

On Friday (1st December), Harman<\/a> thanked the public for their \u201coverwhelming\u201d support after he was saved from the dance-off. <\/span>Appearing on Strictly It Takes Two and chatting to presenter Fleur East, he said: \u201cIt\u2019s kind of a bit overwhelming that people are sitting there voting for us.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Harman has withdrawn from the competition on medical grounds.<\/span><\/p>\n

A <\/span>BBC spokesperson confirmed<\/a> his exit on Saturday afternoon: \u201cUnfortunately Nigel has sustained an injury which means he is unable to perform in tonight\u2019s show and has had to withdraw from Strictly.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
