Doctor Who fans were delighted to see the late Bernard Cribbins reprise his role as Wilfred Mott<\/a>, beloved grandfather of Donna Noble (Catherine Tate), in the episode Wild Blue Yonder.<\/p>\n Having escaped a terrifying adventure in space, the Doctor (David Tennant) and Donna shared an emotional reunion with Wilf<\/a>, who then warned them of a new menace threatening the Earth.<\/p>\n Speaking on companion show Doctor Who Unleashed<\/a>, showrunner Russell T Davies confirmed that Cribbins\u2019 scene in the special would mark his final appearance as Wilf.<\/p>\n Though there had been hopes to film further scenes with Cribbins, the 93-year-old\u2019s health prevented him from returning to set. He died on 27th July, 2022.<\/p>\n “Hello, me old soldier!”
