We\u2019re just a couple of weeks away from the <\/span>Strictly Come Dancing<\/span><\/a> 2023 final, with this year\u2019s <\/span>line-up<\/span><\/a> returning to the dance floor for their eleventh live performance last night (Saturday, 2nd December).<\/span><\/p>\n

It was announced that there would be no public vote on Saturday evening and no elimination on Sunday <\/span>after <\/span>Nigel Harman was forced to withdraw<\/span><\/a> from the competition along with his professional partner Katya Jones, but the remaining celebs still brought their A-game.<\/span><\/p>\n

Ellie Leach kicked off the show with a Beauty and the Beast quickstep, while Annabel Croft followed with a Wicked foxtrot.<\/span><\/p>\n

Both of them received high praise for their performances, but\u00a0it was Layton Williams who topped the leaderboard<\/a> with a perfect score of 40<\/a> \u2013\u00a0the first of the series \u2013\u00a0with an outstanding Paso Doble to Backstage Romance from <\/span>Moulin Rouge! The Musical<\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

It was an epic comeback for Layton, who was in the dance-off the week before.<\/span><\/p>\n

Shirley Ballas described the routine as \u201cabsolutely sensational\u201d, while Anton Du Beke said: \u201cThat\u2019s the best thing you\u2019ve done on the series so far.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Bobby Brazier and his professional partner Dianne Buswell then transformed into Jennifer Gray\u2019s Baby and Patrick Sqayze\u2019s Johnny from the 1987 classic Dirty Dancing, but their performance was marred by a wobbly lift, resulting in the pair receiving a total score of 34.<\/span><\/p>\n

Harman<\/a> had been due to perform a Charleston to Step in Time from Mary Poppins, but with just hours to go until the live show, it was announced that he had been forced to exit the contest after suffering an injury.<\/span><\/p>

\u201cI was leaping off a rostrum and was about to be caught by some very handsome men, and as I flew I was Peter Pan and as I landed I was in A & E,\u201d he explained. \u201c<\/span>So I\u2019ve done something to my rib basically, and it\u2019s quite painful. I\u2019m a little bit high on painkillers as well but I\u2019m having a lovely time.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Speaking about his time on the show, he said: \u201c<\/span>I\u2019ve loved it. And I am [still] loving it \u2013 it\u2019s too soon to say \u2018loved\u2019. This hasn\u2019t really sunk in, when I watched everyone come down the stairs, I was a bit sad. I\u2019ve been avoiding Kat all day because that makes it really real, as well.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Co-hosts Claudia and Tess Daly clarified at the beginning of Saturday\u2019s live show that the judges would still be scoring the performances and that their votes would be carried over to next week, which means we\u2019ll still get a three-couple final.<\/span><\/p>\n
