Some fans have complained about Linda’s recent storyline involving the return of Dean Wicks. <\/p>

Following complaints surrounding Linda\u2019s current storyline on EastEnders<\/a>, the BBC has responded, saying that they are \u201cconfident\u201d viewers will be aware scenes form part of \u201ca bigger storyline\u201d.<\/p>\n

Some fans have complained about Kellie Bright\u2019s character\u2019s storyline, which has seen her being blackmailed into lying that she was never raped by Dean Wicks<\/a> \u2013 who did rape in 2014 and faced no consequences for the crime after being acquitted.<\/p>\n

The BBC said in a statement<\/a>: \u201cEastEnders is a fictional drama that has a rich history of tackling sensitive issues and Linda\u2019s story is one of these. Since Linda\u2019s rape storyline aired in September 2014, viewers have been aware that Dean has never admitted his guilt.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhilst dramas often portray situations that may not be the same as real life, we believe our audience know to expect such storylines and, we are also confident that regular EastEnders viewers will be aware that these scenes will form part of a bigger storyline where the issue will be tackled again.\u201d<\/p>\n
