The Fifteenth Doctor has arrived! <\/p>

A new trailer for Doctor Who\u2019s 2023 Christmas special<\/a>, The Church on Ruby Road, has been revealed, and it looks absolutely glorious.<\/p>\n

The upcoming special, which will see Doctor Who return to its Christmas Day slot<\/a>, will mark Ncuti Gatwa\u2019s first full episode as the Fifteenth Doctor.<\/p>\n

First-look images of the special show the Doctor dancing away in a club, where he\u2019s set to meet his newest companion, Ruby Sunday, played by Millie Gibson.<\/p>\n

The episode will also delve into Ruby\u2019s backstory and introduce her family for the first time.<\/p>\n\n<p>Plus, it will see Doctor Who <a href=\"https:\/\/www.radiotimes.com\/tv\/sci-fi\/doctor-who-boss-fantasy-step-newsupdate\/\">take a \u201csly step\u201d towards fantasy<\/a>, as showrunner Russell T Davies put it, with the pair facing a horde of goblins.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking in this week\u2019s issue of\u00a0<strong>Radio Times magazine<\/strong>, Davies spoke about shows like\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.radiotimes.com\/tv\/sci-fi\/stranger-things-actor-ages-issues-newsupdate\/\">Stranger Things<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.radiotimes.com\/tv\/fantasy\/the-witcher-author-netflix-series-newsupdate\/\">The Witcher<\/a>, saying: \u201cI was just a bit jealous that all those other shows were getting a bigger tase of the pie, so this Christmas the enemy is goblins.\u201d<\/p> <p>Davies admitted: \u201cThe show is taking a sly step towards fantasy, which will annoy people to whom it\u2019s a hard science-fiction show.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEpisode 2 next year is wildly fantasy. Completely making up scenarios on-screen that we\u2019ve never been able to show before. But the following episode is proper hard science-fiction.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, it was recently revealed that the Christmas special will feature a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.radiotimes.com\/tv\/sci-fi\/doctor-who-goblin-song-christmas-newsupdate\/\">show-stopping musical number<\/a>, with The Goblin Song being released very soon.<\/p>\n<p>Davies said: \u201cWe\u2019re releasing this as an early Christmas present for everyone.
