Former Doctor Who<\/a> star Jodie Whittaker will be undertaking a new role on Christmas Day, as the narrator of the latest Julia Donaldson adaptation from Magic Light Pictures, Tabby McTat<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The cute tale tells the story of a little cat called Tabby (played by \u1e62\u1ecdp\u1eb9\u0301 D\u00ecr\u00eds\u00f9) and his owner, Fred (Rob Brydon), who get separated and then have to traverse London to find each other.<\/p>\n

But in the midst of his journey, he finds love with Sock (Susan Wokoma) and starts a family with her.<\/p>\n

The story about loss, moving on and family is one that\u2019s sure to touch people on Christmas Day \u2013 and as the narrator, Whittaker felt some pressure helping bring the lovely story to life.<\/p>

Speaking exclusively to RadioTimes.com<\/a>, Whittaker explained: \u201cIt\u2019s nerve-wracking because you don\u2019t want to be the ruiner of so many people\u2019s favourite book.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut I think my job\u2019s easy because the words are so beautiful and it\u2019s been written so well that it\u2019s just actually lifting that off the page. All the hard work has been done for me.\u201d<\/p>\n

Speaking about what she hopes viewers will take from the adorable story, Whittaker explained: \u201cI think it\u2019ll be one [story] that will really stick in your heart. And I think what it is, is it\u2019s about bringing people together and showing family in all its forms.\u201d<\/p>
