Brookside<\/a> this festive season \u2013 with STV Player having announced that it will be adding extra episodes of the classic soap early in 2024.<\/p>\nThe UK-wide streaming service started airing episodes of Brookside earlier in 2023, with five classic instalments arriving on the platform each week, and viewers are in for a double dose on New Year\u2019s Day.<\/p>\n
Rather than the usual five, fans will be treated to 10 episodes on Monday 1st January, with STV\u2019s managing director of digital Richard Williams describing it as a \u201cBrookie Bonus\u201d.<\/p>
\u201cBecoming the first streamer to bring Brookside<\/span> back from the very start has been one of the highlights of our year,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n\u201cSeeing the joy it has brought to the show\u2019s passionate and dedicated fandom \u2013 many of whom campaigned for years for its return \u2013 has been very rewarding, so we\u2019re delighted to be offering a Brookie Bonus this New Year and dropping extra episodes.\u201d<\/p>\n
He added that 2024 would be an exciting year for fans of the soap, \u201cwith some huge storylines and game-changing arrivals\u201d from years gone by making their way to the service.<\/p>\n
