Unfortunately, the disease doesn\u2019t have a cure, and will eventually end up taking Chloe\u2019s life \u2013 something she wanted to discuss with Elly, as she didn\u2019t want to be a burden to her as her illness progresses.<\/p>\n
Rejecting her offer for an out, Elly proposed and promised to be with her whatever happens.<\/p>\n
Speaking exclusively to RadioTimes.com<\/a>, April Rose Pengilly spoke about Chloe\u2019s nerves when she starts to get symptoms.<\/p>\n \u201cIt shouldn\u2019t really get too bad until she\u2019s in her 50s, but it\u2019s still really scary having these little symptoms now.<\/p>\n \u201cBut for the first time, she feels really safe with a partner, because she\u2019s gone to Elly and said, \u2018Look, this is what it\u2019s going to be like, and this is your opportunity to leave if you want to, and I totally understand that.\u2019<\/p>\n \u201cBut Elly has stepped up and said, \u2018No, I want to go through this with you. I\u2019m here for you,\u2019 really showing Chloe the security she\u2019s always hoped for.\u201d<\/p>\n Pengilly added: \u201cThey\u2019re coming together on that wedding day really so in love and so supportive. It\u2019s scary what Chloe\u2019s going through, but they\u2019re in it together.\u201d<\/p>\n Speaking about the future for them, Pengilly is hopeful: \u201cWe don\u2019t know! We really hope they have their happy ending, but I know that\u2019s rare in Erinsborough. I hope things work out for them.\u201d<\/p>\n Needless to say, both would want to continue Chelly\u2019s story.<\/p>\n Gordon said: \u201cWe would love to, absolutely. I\u2019d love to see how they would bring Chelly back!\u201d<\/p> Pengilly also praised fans for their constant support around the Chelly storyline, from the start to the current day, noting it\u2019s because of them Chloe and Elly are walking down the aisle.<\/p>\n \u201cI remember when we were first told that we were going to have a storyline where Chloe had a crush on Elly, all those years ago. To be honest, we didn\u2019t think much of it.<\/p>\n \u201cIt started airing and we were just bombarded by fans, particularly young queer women who really appreciated seeing themselves represented on screen.\u201d<\/p>\n Pengilly continued: \u201cI remember talking to one of our producers at the time and we were saying we didn\u2019t expect this, so a few months later they wrote Chelly getting back together again and it kept resonating.<\/p>\n \u201cSo it\u2019s truly because of fans that the storyline was given legs.
