Dornan’s Elliot is in a whole world of trouble in the brand new trailer. <\/p>

Jamie Dornan thriller The Tourist<\/a> will be blasting its way back onto our screens on New Year\u2019s Day<\/a>, and now we have our first look at season 2 in a brand new trailer.<\/p>\n

In the footage, we see Dornan\u2019s Elliot and Danielle Macdonald\u2019s Helen now in a relationship, and heading to Ireland to discover more about Elliot\u2019s mysterious backstory, of which he has no memory.<\/p>\n

It seems it isn\u2019t long until things kick off, with Elliot being kidnapped and Helen being told that the people who have taken him are \u201cnot messing around\u201d.<\/p>\n

Cue cars falling off cliffs, guns being drawn and more destruction than you can shake a stick at. You can watch the full trailer right here now.<\/p>\n\n<p>Macdonald and new cast member Conor MacNeill previously told <a href=\"https:\/\/www.radiotimes.com\/\">RadioTimes.com<\/a> that fans can <a href=\"https:\/\/www.radiotimes.com\/tv\/drama\/the-tourist-season-2-chaotic-exclusive-newsupdate\/\">expect just as many twists and turns<\/a> as in the first season, with MacNeill adding that it\u2019s \u201cjust as chaotic and surprising and exciting\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Read more:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.radiotimes.com\/tv\/drama\/boat-story-the-tourist-tone-newsupdate\/\">Boat Story star watched The Tourist to grasp thriller\u2019s \u201cunusual\u201d tone<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.radiotimes.com\/tv\/drama\/mr-bates-post-office-will-mellor-angry-exclusive-newsupdate\/\">Mr Bates vs The Post Office\u2019s Will Mellor: \u2018The story makes me so angry\u2019<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Meanwhile, Macdonald said: \u201cThere\u2019s a lot of new characters and there\u2019s a lot of twists and turns. I think Jack and Harry [Williams, show creators] are really good at setting up a bunch of things and then they unravel as the series does. And yeah, I think it\u2019s very much the same.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey do that amazing thing where there are one-off characters that come into this, like there were in season 1, that are just electric and brilliant and odd and exciting to watch.\u201d<\/p> <p>Meanwhile, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.radiotimes.com\/tv\/drama\/the-tourist-season-2-jamie-dornan-reason-newsupdate\/\">Dornan explained one of the reasons<\/a> why it was crucial to set the new season in Ireland \u2013 rather than Australia, where the first was set \u2013 revealing this was one of the factors in his agreeing to return.<\/p>\n<div class=\"editor-content mb-lg hidden-print js-piano-preview-content\" data-placement=\"Body\">\n<div>\n<p>He said: \u201cMy thinking was, \u2018Where are we going? Like, if we\u2019re doing this, where are we going?\u2019<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBecause it was a bit of an upheaval to go to Australia, and the idea of going again so soon after\u2026 I mean, [other cast members] don\u2019t have kids, I have three kids. And I took them all with me, they went to school there, it was a big thing family-wise to do that.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd the idea of doing that again so soon wasn\u2019t hugely appealing.
