Gibson’s character Ruby Sunday is set to be introduced in the upcoming Christmas special. <\/p>
New Doctor Who<\/a> companion Millie Gibson has revealed that watching Ncuti Gatwa film one particular scene from the upcoming Christmas special made her cry.<\/p>\n The Church on Ruby Road<\/a> \u2013 which airs on BBC One on Christmas Day \u2013 will introduce Gibson\u2019s character Ruby Sunday as she joins Gatwa\u2019s Fifteenth Doctor for her first adventure in time and space.<\/p>\n And, speaking during a recent interview with The Times<\/a>, the former Coronation Street<\/a>\u00a0actress had some very positive words for her co-star.<\/p> \u201cIt was like a masterclass every day with Ncuti,\u201d she said. \u201cThere\u2019s a scene in the Christmas episode where I was watching him perform and I just started to cry.<\/p>\n \u201cI wasn\u2019t even on camera, so it was a wasted performance. He\u2019s my Doctor now, and I think so many people will connect with him.\u201d<\/p>\n Meanwhile, Gibson also explained that she\u2019s \u201cbracing\u201d herself for the new level of fame that will be coming her way once she begins starring in the beloved sci-fi show \u2013 explaining she\u2019s received advice from former cast members such as Jodie Whittaker and Karen Gillan<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cSo many people have sat me down and said, \u2018Look, your life will change,’\u201d she revealed. \u201cIt is hard to accept that. And then the second part will be preparing for when it comes out.\u201d<\/p>\n Some details of the Christmas Special are still being kept under wraps, and it remains a mystery which scene moved Gibson to tears, but we do know that the episode will include goblins, stolen babies and a musical number<\/a> that has already been released as a single.<\/p>\n Meanwhile, showrunner Russell T Davies has also revealed that the special will explore Ruby\u2019s backstory<\/a>, telling SFX magazine<\/a> that it is \u201cunashamedly the story of Ruby\u201d.<\/p> \n
