Green appears to have no plans to leave the ITV drama anytime soon. <\/p>

As Grantchester<\/a> returns for its eighth season, the second to last one which will star Tom Brittney as Will Davenport<\/a>, Robson Green has revealed how long he intends to stay on the show playing Geordie Keating.<\/p>\n

The actor, who has led the show since its first season in 2014, will have seen two of his partners come and go in that time, as James Norton initially starred as Reverend Sidney Chambers \u2013 with Rishi Nair having been announced as joining in season 9, playing Vicar Alphy Kotteram.<\/p>\n

However, it seems Green has no intention to leave himself, saying ahead of season 8 airing<\/a>: \u201cAs I\u2019m in the last third of my life, I want to work with people I love working with and do projects that make me genuinely happy and push me creatively.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut in the end, I just really want to have fun doing what I love. And Grantchester caters for those needs.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m an executive producer, and at the beginning we knew we had something special and that would float the audience\u2019s boat, but we never realised how popular it would turn out to be and how well it would be received around the world.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut as long as [creator] Daisy [Coulam] is at the helm with [executive producer] Emma Kingsman-Lloyd, and as long as we have cinematographers and lighting designers at the top of their game, and we\u2019re all still enjoying it, long may it continue.\u201d<\/p>\n

Green also went on to tease the stories we can expect to see in season 8, saying: \u201cThere\u2019s a murder every episode and the stories are really gripping.<\/p>\n
