Speaking at a Q&A for the new season, the brothers were asked whether it was always the plan to make season 2, to which Jack said: \u201cNo, we didn\u2019t plan it. Not in the<\/span> sense that we said it wouldn\u2019t happen, but we always kind of want to tell the<\/span> best stories and in season 1 we just thought, \u2018Let\u2019s leave nothing behind. Let\u2019s not try and leave it open ended deliberately\u2019.<\/p>\n \u201cBut the<\/span>re were definitely times in watching the<\/span> first season we did think, \u2018Well, you know, Jamie\u2019s character Elliot has a whole history behind him\u2019, we knew we weren\u2019t going to find out all of it, so we knew the<\/span>re was going to be a little gap somewhere that we could explore.<\/p>\n \u201cAnd it was a lot of fun, and working with actors like Danielle and Jamie is just amazing. So we kind of thought that it felt like once we had the<\/span> right idea, it felt the<\/span> right thing to do.\u201d<\/p>\n Harry added: \u201cAnd I suppose at the<\/span> end of the<\/span> first one<\/a>, a question is posed, which is he\u2019s done this awful thing, but maybe the<\/span>se two should be togethe<\/span>r. It was interesting to go, \u2018God, what happens if you look at the <\/span>next day of that? Can she forget this awful thing? And how does the<\/span> relationship work when you know all that\u2019s passed?’\u201d<\/p>\n Read more:<\/strong><\/p>\n Once they had decided to go ahead with season 2, the brothers of course had to get the original season\u2019s stars, Dornan and Macdonald on board \u2013 and Dornan explained that the show\u2019s change of location in season 2, from Australia to Ireland, was a key determining factor<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cMy thinking was, \u2018Where are we going? Like, if we\u2019re doing this, where are we going?’\u201d Dornan explained. \u201cBecause it was a bit of an upheaval to go to Australia, and the idea of going again so soon after\u2026 I mean, these guys don\u2019t have kids, I have three kids.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div> He continued: \u201cAnd I took them all with me, they went to school there, it was a big thing family-wise to do that.
