The host of the reality show said she is feeling “nervous” and “weird” about the upcoming instalment. <\/p>

The TV reality show The Traitors<\/a> might have taken the world by storm back in 2022, but Claudia Winkleman has admitted she was reluctant to return ahead of season 2.<\/span><\/p>\n

The iconic game is returning to the BBC in just a few days, with a brand new bunch of contestants battling it out for up to \u00a3120,000.<\/span><\/p>\n

However, while Strictly Come Dancing host Claudia<\/a> will return to present the second season, she has revealed she initially needed some persuading.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m feeling nervous and weird about it,\u201d Claudia told <\/span>Heat magazine<\/span><\/a>. \u201cI originally said \u2018let\u2019s just leave it as this magical thing that happened\u2019. Then the head of BBC took my temperature.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

She added: \u201cI just don\u2019t want people\u2019s expectations to be so high.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThe game is compelling and it taps into something I\u2019ve been told all my life: \u2018Trust your gut\u2019. But it turns out you can\u2019t. You know absolutely nothing. On Strictly Come Dancing I\u2019m like a cheerleader.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

She continued: \u201cWhen they sat me down and said I had to kick two people out, I was like \u2018Don\u2019t be ridiculous I can\u2019t do that\u2019. I do have to be quite cold. Sometimes I\u2019m on the side of <\/span>the Traitors and sometimes I really want the Faithful to get one of them. They work in equal measure because I respect game play above everything.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

The Traitors season 2 will premiere on <\/span>Wednesday 3rd January 2024, with episodes two and three also available immediately afterwards on BBC iPlayer.<\/span><\/p>\n

Further instalments will then air Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.<\/span><\/p>\n

Claudia might have initially had her doubts about season 2, but the BBC appears to be very confident that it will be another popular series, as it has already renewed the show for a third season<\/a>.<\/p>

The season renewal was announced back in November, with Kalpna Patel-Knight, Head of Entertainment at the BBC, saying at the time: \u201cThe massive unscripted hit The Traitors will be back for a third series. Expect to see more psychological gameplay, exciting challenges and, of course, Claudia at the helm.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt will be a thrilling ride for both avid fans and newcomers to the series for sure. The BBC will always remain faithful to The Traitors.\u201d<\/p>\n
