It\u2019s hard to imagine <\/span>Grey\u2019s Anatomy<\/span><\/a> without Ellen Pompeo\u2019s Dr Meredith Grey, who has acted as the face (and name) of the medical drama since the very beginning.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Viewers were worried this could become their reality earlier, however, after it was announced that she would be stepping down from a regular role on the Emmy-winning series.<\/span><\/p>\n

However, Pompeo soon shut down rumours<\/a> of her leaving the show for good, claiming that it was \u201cnot a complete goodbye\u201d for the fan favourite character \u2014 and a new trailer has confirmed that Meredith will return for the upcoming 20th season.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

In fact, Dr Grey even opens the teaser, asking, \u201cHow long do I have to wait?\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n

The clip then cuts to action from the hospital, as staff are seen frantically running around trying to tackle medical crises left, right and centre.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Throughout the rest of the trailer, there are kisses shared, jobs threatened and Dr Altman in a \u201ccritical condition\u201d as she collapses to the floor \u2014 suggesting that audiences can expect more of the trademark drama that has made the series such a success across the globe.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Plus, in perhaps the biggest reveal outside of the lead character\u2019s return, James Pickens Jr\u2019s Dr Webber is seen receiving a vodka tonic, after battling alcoholism for years. Will he get the help he needs?<\/p>\n
