BAFTA has released the longlist for its upcoming Film Awards next month \u2013 and there\u2019s no surprise that Barbie<\/a> and Oppenheimer<\/a>\u00a0are among the films to feature most prominently.<\/p>\n

Both films \u2013 along with Martin Scorsese\u2019s epic Killers of the Flower Moon<\/a> \u2013 are longlisted in 15 different categories, while other films appearing in numerous categories include Poor Things<\/a> (14), Maestro<\/a> (12) and Saltburn<\/a> (11).<\/p>\n

A second round of voting is now open for BAFTA numbers that will see the various lists whittled down before the final nominations are announced on Thursday 18th January ahead of the ceremony at London\u2019s Royal Festival Hall exactly one month later.<\/p>\n

Ten films are in the longlist in the coveted Best Film category, with Barbie, Oppenheimer, Killers of the Flower Moon, Poor Things and Maestro joined by All of Us Strangers<\/a>, Anatomy of a Fall<\/a>, The Holdovers, Past Lives<\/a> and The Zone of Interest.<\/p>\n

Three of those films \u2013 All of Us Strangers, Poor Things and The Zone of Interest \u2013 are also in the running in the Outstanding British Film category, with other longlisted films including Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget<\/a>, How to Have Sex, Napoleon<\/a>, Saltburn and Wonka<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, major hopefuls that didn\u2019t fare so well include Sofia Coppola\u2019s Priscilla<\/a> and Todd Haynes\u2019s May December<\/a> \u2013 with just two appearances apiece \u2013 and Michael Mann\u2019s Ferrari<\/a>, which features only in technical categories.<\/p>\n
