Adam Peaty is one of the 15 contestants in this year’s Strictly Come Dancing line-up. <\/p>
Olympic swimmer Adam Peaty<\/a> has swapped the pool for the ballroom this year, as he joins the 19th series of Strictly Come Dancing<\/a>.<\/p>\n He\u2019ll compete against the other 14 contestants in the Strictly Come Dancing 2021 line-up<\/a>, including presenter AJ Odudu<\/a>, McFly\u2019s Tom Fletcher<\/a>, rugby player Ugo Mony<\/a>e and actress Rose Ayling-Ellis<\/a>, who is the first deaf contestant to take part on the show.<\/p>\n They\u2019ll be partnered with one of the Strictly Come Dancing professionals<\/a> at the launch show, which will air on Saturday, 18th September.<\/p>\n The live shows will follow the week after with the Strictly Come Dancing judges<\/a> scoring and giving their verdict on the dances.<\/p>\n When it comes to the judging panel, Craig Revel Horwood in particular is known for his harsh commentary.<\/p>\n While this isn\u2019t something that worries Peaty, he\u2019s admitted he won\u2019t be very \u201chappy\u201d if he scores low in the BBC One dance competition.<\/p>\n Speaking to press including RadioTimes.com<\/a>,<\/strong> he said: \u201cI can take criticism, but if I think it\u2019s a good dance and I\u2019ve put my heart and soul into it, hours and hours of training, and a lot of hard work, and then someone says its a three or four, well I\u2019m not going to be happy am I? But again, that\u2019s the game.\u201d<\/p> So, does the swimmer rate himself as a dancer?<\/p>\n \u201cI guess so! You might as well rate yourself,\u201d he explained. \u201cI think when it comes to professional dancing, it\u2019s very different, but we\u2019ll see.<\/p>\n \u201cI think people are expecting me to work hard and train hard, which I do, I really like training hard, but I think because I\u2019ve won pretty much every competition, but going into this is going to be completely different. I have no idea.\u201d<\/p>\n Asked whether he thinks his swimming background will help or hinder his dancing skills, the 26-year-old said: \u201cHinder, because I\u2019m used to being in the water. I\u2019m not used to being on land, but again, my hips are hopefully going to be a bit a fluid!\u201d<\/p>\n Strictly Come Dancing starts on BBC One on Saturday 18th September.
