Here’s what you need to know about the new group of pottery hopefuls who are entering the workshop. <\/p>

The Great Pottery Throw Down is back for a brand new series in 2024!<\/p>\n

The new series will see 12 home potters compete to become Britain\u2019s next champion of the pottery as they take on three ceramic challenges each week.<\/p>\n

They will be judged by experts Keith Brymer Jones and Rich Miller and the always hilarious Siobhan McSweeney will present the show.<\/p>\n

As the series makes a return on Sunday 7th January, let\u2019s get to know the contestants hoping to be named the next pottery champion.<\/p>\n

Here\u2019s everything you need to know about the line-up for The Great Pottery Throw Down 2024<\/a>.<\/p>

The Great Pottery Throw Down 2024 line-up:<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Sophie<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Location:\u00a0<\/strong>Warwickshire<\/p>\n

Job:\u00a0<\/strong>Design crafts graduate<\/p>\n

Sophie brings all aspects of her art into her pottery and is hoping to turn her dad\u2019s shed into a studio.<\/p>\n

As well as pottery, Sophie loves photography and using her skills to capture wholesome family moments.<\/p>\n

Steven<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Steven first tried pottery six years ago when he was on holiday and hasn\u2019t stopped since. His favourite person to pot with is his daughter.<\/p>\n

Job:\u00a0<\/strong>Small business owner<\/p>\n

Shani used to make pots from naturally harvested clay when she was a child in Sri Lanka. But it was only after watching her children play in the mud that her interest in pottery piqued.<\/p>\n

In between taking her children to all their clubs and activities, Shani finds time to run a small business refurbishing pottery equipment.<\/p>\n

Princess<\/strong><\/h2>\n

After her career as a pastry chef, Princess found her love of clay. She now works as a studio technician, and hasn\u2019t looked back since.<\/p>\n

Whilst recovering from breast cancer in 2014, Jan decided to tick off some things on her bucket list, and one of those included pottery.<\/p>\n

Jan has been an animal sciences lecturer for 25 years and has a real passion for wildlife and conservation.<\/p>\n

Self-taught pottery maker Edward first tried pottery out at his local community centre and now pots at his home. He recently made himself a new sink.<\/p>\n

Donna first began pottery at 15 years old. The DIY-lover does everything from the tiling to fitting the toilet and sink in her new home.<\/p>\n

In the past, Donna has used her sculpting skills to decorate cakes \u2013 could this help her out when it comes to the challenges?<\/p>\n

After a 40-year hiatus from clay, self-confessed tinkerer Dave bought himself a broke potter\u2019s wheel as a repair job and hasn\u2019t looked back since.<\/p>\n

When he isn\u2019t pottery making, he loves to go canoeing with his wife and their dog, Izzy.<\/p>\n
