Channel 4 has introduced the 12 new bakers who’ll be competing for that Hollywood handshake. <\/p>
Channel 4\u2019s The Great British Bake Off<\/a> has introduced the 12 contestants entering the show\u2019s infamous tent ahead of the new series.<\/p>\n Series 12, which begins airing on Tuesday 21st September, will see Noel Fielding and Matt Lucas return to host the hit cooking show as this year\u2019s amateur bakers attempt to wow Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith with their signature challenges, technical attempts and show-stopping bakes.<\/p>\n Bake Off revealed its 2021 contestants with a short video on Twitter, writing: \u201cPlease give a warm welcome to the Bake Off Class of 2021! #GBBO\u201d<\/p>\n Please give a warm welcome to the Bake Off Class of 2021! #GBBO<\/a> pic.twitter.com\/kTBOwyFy21<\/a><\/p>\u2014 British Bake Off (@BritishBakeOff) September 13, 2021<\/a><\/blockquote> The line-up of baking hopefuls for this year\u2019s competition include 56-year-old Met Police detective Amanda, 50-year-old sales manager Chigs, 26-year-old client relationship manager Crystelle and this year\u2019s youngest baker, 19-year-old psychology student Freya.<\/p>\n They\u2019ll be joined in the Bake Off tent by London-based Shared Lives co-ordinator George, Italian engineer Giuseppe, 45, 51-year-old head of finance Jairzeno, Sussex-based 56-year-old J\u00fcrgen, Liverpudlian dancer and true crime obsessive Lizzie, 70-year-old retired nurse Maggie, HR business partner Rochica, 27, and Kent-based software developer Tom.<\/p> Filming on the new series took place earlier this year, with Lucas telling Lorraine back in May<\/a>: \u201cWe\u2019re going into a bubble \u2013 all self-isolating and getting tested and then we\u2019re going into this COVID-free bubble, so we can all taste each other\u2019s bakes and there can be handshakes and all sorts.\u201d<\/p>\n Series 11 marked Matt Lucas\u2019s Bake Off presenting debut, after former host Sandi Toksvig left the show<\/a> to spend more time focusing on other work.<\/p>\n The Great British Bake Off will return to Channel 4 on Tuesday 21st September at 8pm.
