“So we had a Gladiator baby!” <\/p>
The BBC has revived Gladiators<\/a> for the modern day, and just like the original series, it\u2019s still a family affair.<\/p>\n Speaking to RadioTimes.com<\/a> and other press, hosts Bradley and Barney Walsh opened up about the show\u2019s return and the \u201cbeauty\u201d of hosting together as father and son.<\/p>\n \u201cThe beauty of us doing it as a pair is that it\u2019s a generational thing \u2013 the kids that watched Gladiators have grown up and they now have children of their own,\u201d Barney explained.<\/p>\n \u201cAnd we saw that in the arena when the families were bringing their kids and they were so excited to see all of the Glads and get their signatures and stuff. It was just electric and seeing that generational thing was really cool as well.\u201d<\/p>\n Read more:<\/strong><\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s gone sort of full circle now,\u201d Bradley added. \u201cDespite the families being there with the contenders, there are other other families that have nothing to do with the contenders, and they were there with their whole family.\u201d<\/p> The show has become such a family event, Barney went on to reveal that someone in the audience\u00a0actually\u00a0<\/em>gave birth during filming for the rebooted show.<\/p>\n He said: \u201cThere was one lady who gave birth in the audience during one of the shows. Her waters broke during the show and she gave birth. So we had a Gladiator baby!\u201d<\/p>\n Sounds like we might be getting more than just games on the BBC series!<\/p>\n The new season will kick off on Saturday 13th January, with a brand new line-up of Gladiators<\/a>, including Fire (Montell Douglas), Giant (Jamie Christian Johal), Legend (Matt Morsia), Nitro (Harry Aikines-Aryeetey) and more.<\/p> \n
