The series stars Michelle Keegan as Maya Stern<\/a>, a woman who is given the shock of her life when she spies her husband on the nanny cam. While that wouldn\u2019t be cause for concern usually, Maya\u2019s husband Joe was recently murdered \u2013 or so she thought.<\/p>\n Cue pandemonium, parallel investigations and some serious digging into Joe himself.<\/p>\n It\u2019s safe to say that Fool Me Once<\/a> has gone down a treat with viewers, who have loved the return of Richard Armitage in Harlan Coben\u2019s TV universe. But there has also been plenty of fanfare over the characters of DS Sami Kierce and Marty McGreggor, played by Adeel Akhtar and Dino Fetscher respectively.<\/p>\n The characters form an unlikely duo, who are placed together to investigate Joe\u2019s murder, and throughout the eight episodes have a love-hate relationship \u2013 with Akhtar\u2019s Kierce not really wanting to work with the bounding and optimistic Marty.<\/p>\n Fans have loved their partnership so much that they\u2019ve even started calling for a series spin-off with the pair at the helm.<\/p>\n One fan wrote on X<\/a> (formerly known as Twitter): \u201cHave just finished watching Fool Me Once on <\/span>@NetflixUK <\/span>& really need a spin off detective show with Dino Fetscher & Adeer Akhtar.\u201d Similarly, another fan<\/a> has called for a \u201cbuddy cop spin off with Kierce & Marty\u201d. So, could it happen?<\/p>\n Well, RadioTimes.com<\/a> posed the question to bestselling novelist and series creator Coben, who admitted that he loves the concept.<\/p>\n Coben exclusively told RadioTimes.com<\/strong>: \u201cI love the idea. If Adeel wants to do it and we all want to do it, I would love to spin off and do some<\/span>thing with Adeel again. He\u2019s an unusual talent and fun to work with. I love the dynamic between him and Dino as Marty.\u201d<\/p>\n Coben continued: \u201cOne of the things we want to do with these shows is to have a little fun, we\u2019re not trying to take ourselves that seriously, we want you to binge-watch it, enjoy it. Right now, I think the world could use a bit of escapism and that\u2019s really what we\u2019re trying to do.<\/p>\n \u201cOne of the scenes that my daughter [Charlotte Coben] actually wrote was when Marty and Kierce are at the elevator and they\u2019re talking about the laws about hitting a dog \u2013 that was my daughter\u2019s. It was funny on paper but the way those two did it, the back and forth that those two had with each other, I think that they really enjoyed working together as well.\u201d<\/p> While nothing will be revealed here about how Fool Me Once ends<\/a>, Coben also confessed to RadioTimes.com<\/strong> that he thinks Armitage\u2019s role in the new series has been his best yet<\/a>.<\/p>\n Read more:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n Coben revealed: \u201cRichard\u2019s such a terrific actor, and the roles he\u2019s playing on these shows are so different, the three he\u2019s now played on Stay Close, The Stranger and now Fool Me Once.
