Following its theatrical release back in November 2023, Ridley Scott\u2019s biopic Napoleon<\/a>, starring Joaquin Phoenix as the famous French emperor, now has a digital release date.<\/p>\n

The film charts Napoleon Bonaparte\u2019s rise to fame during the French Revolution, focusing on his volatile relationship with Empress Jos\u00e9phine (Vanessa Kirby)<\/a>.<\/p>\n

An official synopsis reads: \u201cNapoleon<\/a> is a spectacle-filled action epic that details the checkered rise and fall of the iconic French Emperor Napoleon Bonaparte, played by Oscar-winner Joaquin Phoenix.<\/p>\n

\u201cAgainst a stunning backdrop of large-scale filmmaking orchestrated by legendary director Ridley Scott, the film captures Bonaparte\u2019s relentless journey to power through the prism of his addictive, volatile relationship with his one true love, Josephine, showcasing his visionary military and political tactics against some of the most dynamic practical battle sequences ever filmed.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ridley Scott previously revealed that a four-hour director\u2019s cut will also be coming to the platform.<\/p>\n

Speaking to Total Film<\/a>, Scott said: \u201cI\u2019m working on it. It was four [hours] 10 [minutes] this morning. And so what happens is, we\u2019ll screen [the theatrical cut] first with Sony, and then it has its run, and then the perfect thing is that [the director\u2019s cut] goes to streaming, and we have four hours 10 minutes.\u201d<\/p>\n
