The season 4 cast is shaping up! <\/p>

We have a new casting announcement from The Witcher season 4<\/a>!<\/p>\n

Laurence Fishburne has joined the cast as Regis, a key character from the books and games.<\/p>\n

Regis, introduced in Andrzej Sapkowski\u2019s novel Baptism of Fire, is a world-wise barber-surgeon with a mysterious past who joins Geralt on his journey in season 4.<\/p>\n

Fishburne, who\u2019s known for roles in The Matrix and John Wick, said of his new role:\u00a0\u201cI\u2019m very excited to be joining the cast and look forward to exploring the wondrous world of The Witcher.\u201d<\/p>\n

Of course, season 4 will be Liam Hemsworth\u2019s<\/a> first as Geralt of Rivia, as he takes over from Henry Cavill<\/a>, who left the role after three seasons.<\/p>\n

Anya Chalotra (Yennefer of Vengerberg), Freya Allan (Ciri) and Joey Batey (Jaskier) will return as leading stars for the highly-anticipated new season, which will follow our heroes as they traverse a war-ravaged Continent.<\/p>\n

Still torn apart from each other, they must embrace the groups of misfits they find themselves in if they\u2019re to survive and ever find each other again.<\/p>

Executive producer Tomek Bagi\u0144ski previously teased to RadioTimes.com<\/a> how season 4 would address the re-casting of Geralt<\/a>.<\/p>\n

He said: \u201cLauren [Schmidt Hissrich, showrunner] and her team \u2013 and there are a few really good writers returning to the writers\u2019 room for season 4 \u2013 I think they cobbled together a really nice opening which is really true to the books.<\/p>\n
