The competition show returns to our screens tonight! <\/p>
ITV\u2019s hit ice-skating competition show Dancing on Ice<\/a> returns to our screens tonight (Sunday 14th January) for more intricate routines and more celebrities showing off their impressive skills.<\/p>\n Well, it\u2019s not all glitz and glam in the run-up to the premiere as in training for the series last year, Emmerdale<\/a> actress Roxy Shahidi<\/a> has revealed she actually dislocated her rib while training with professional ice-skating partner Sylvain Longchambon.<\/p>\n Speaking to The Sun<\/a> ahead of the series return, Shahidi said: \u201cI felt very sorry for myself. I didn\u2019t even know that was a thing. It was hard to breathe. If I coughed or sneezed it was agony. Absolute spasms.<\/p>\n \u201cBut over the course of about three weeks it got better and over Christmas, it\u2019s really rested. And all I\u2019ve got left is like a lump where it\u2019s kind of come out, which is scar tissue, so I\u2019ve just got to be careful with it and if I feel it again, get strapped up.\u201d<\/p> But it turns out that the actress is still suffering with the impact of the injury, also revealing that when taking her child to school, her whole body \u201cwent into spasm\u201d, admitting: \u201cI\u2019ve never felt pain like it.\u201d<\/p>\n One of four soap stars taking part in Dancing on Ice this year, Shahidi is best known for her role in Emmerdale as Leyla Harding. Joining the soap back in 2008, Shahidi eventually exited the series in 2011 and then reprised it in 2014.<\/p>\n Read more:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n Speaking previously in an exclusive chat with RadioTimes.com<\/a>, Shahidi said her journey on Dancing on Ice has been \u201cintense\u201d.<\/p>\n She said:\u00a0\u201cThere have been ups and downs. There have been days where you really feel like you\u2019ve come on loads and it\u2019s really enjoyable and then other days where you\u2019re like, \u2018Wow, I want to make this stop now\u2019.\u201d<\/p>\n The new series sees the return of Holly Willoughby as host, joined by new co-presenter\u00a0Stephen Mulhern. The line-up for the series includes Ricky Hatton MBE<\/a>, Claire Sweeney<\/a>, Ricky Norwood<\/a> and Miles Nazaire<\/a>, to name a few.<\/p> \n
