Brian Barczyk, a reptile expert whose social media videos attracted millions of views, has died at the age of 54 following a battle with pancreatic cancer.<\/span><\/p>\n The Reptarium, a reptile zoo Barczyk founded with his wife, Lori Barczyk, in Utica, Michigan, announced his death on Monday (15th January).<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cMore than the guiding light of our organisation, Brian\u2019s fervent passion for reptiles and wildlife, along with his steadfast dedication to education, has touched innumerable hearts and minds globally,\u201d <\/span>The Reptarium team <\/span>wrote<\/a> in a post on Instagram.<\/span><\/p>\n The statement continued: \u201cOur deepest sympathies are with Brian\u2019s family, his friends, and all those whose lives he has touched. We\u2019ve lost an exceptional individual \u2013 a visionary, mentor, and friend. For those of us who had the privilege of working alongside him, Brian\u2019s absence leaves an immeasurable void.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n Barczyk\u2019s death came just days after he shared a goodbye video to his five million subscribers and the many fans he has amassed over the years by showing day-to-day life in the reptile zoo. He also revealed he had recently entered hospice care.<\/span><\/p>\n In the video, which was titled This is Goodbye\u2026, he said: \u201cYou guys have followed along, and I appreciate you guys so much.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n He continued: \u201cIt has been an amazing journey and one that has changed my life; each one of you has changed my life like you can\u2019t believe.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n Barczyk\u2019s YouTube career saw him collaborate with some of the platform\u2019s biggest names, including Logan Paul and MrBeast.<\/span><\/p>\n Before his YouTube channel had garnered as much attention as it has today, Barczyk also appeared in the TV series Venom Hunters on the Discovery channel.<\/span><\/p>\n
