Netflix has released the moody teaser trailer for its brand new adaptation of Patricia Highsmith\u2019s The Talented Mr Ripley, which stars Andrew Scott in the title role.<\/p>\n
The black-and-white teaser gives little away in terms of plot between the fleeting, out-of-context shots and minimal dialogue, largely consisting of various characters repeating Thomas Ripley\u2019s name in tense meetings with him.<\/p>\n
For context, the official synopsis reads: \u201cTom Ripley, a grifter scraping by in early 1960s New York, is hired by a wealthy man to travel to Italy to try to convince his vagabond son to return home.<\/p>\n
\u201cTom\u2019s acceptance of the job is the first step into a complex life of deceit, fraud and murder.\u201d<\/p>\n
