“Why can’t I have a special award for 20 years of business?” <\/p>

Lord Alan Sugar is back for another season of The Apprentice<\/a>, and as the show embarks on its 18th run, there is something extra the business mogul is after, other than finding a new business partner.<\/p>\n

The Apprentice has been on screens since 2005, and will be marking its 20-year anniversary in 2025 \u2013 with Lord Sugar hoping for special recognition to celebrate.<\/p>\n

Speaking in a Q&A ahead of the season premiere, Lord Sugar<\/a> said: \u201cWe have won BAFTAs, of course, the programme\u2019s won. And then I came up with the idea of the Junior Apprentice, right? And guess what? That also won.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think BAFTA should give me a special award for 20 years of business.<\/p>\n

\u201cSimon Cowell got a special award for 10 years in music. Why can\u2019t I have a special award for 20 years of business? I\u2019ve got all the other gongs for everything else, the only one that I haven\u2019t got is a BAFTA.\u201d<\/p>\n

The new season of The Apprentice will premiere on BBC One on Thursday 1st February, with 18 new hopeful business owners<\/a> all looking for the opportunity to team up with Lord Sugar and receive a \u00a3250,000 investment in their business.<\/p>\n
The candidates were recently revealed by the BBC and they include: Amina Khan, Dr Asif Munaf, Flo Edwards, Foluso Falade, Jack Davies, Maura Rath, Noor Bouziane, Oliver Medforth, Onyeka Nweze, Paul Bowen, Dr Paul Midha, Phil Turner, Rachel Woolford, Raj Chohan, Sam Saadet, Steve Darken, Tre Lowe and Virdi Singh Mazaria.<\/p>
Each candidate will be studied under the watchful eye of Baroness Karren Brady and Tim Campbell MBE, who will be joining Lord Sugar as his aides in season 18.<\/p>\n
Lord Sugar has already been praising the candidates, telling the BBC he is \u201cvery pleased\u201d with the forthcoming run \u201cbecause the quality of the candidates that we have attracted this year is superb\u201d.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis year, we\u2019ve got a lot to work with.\u201d<\/p>\n
