Mortal danger awaits the beloved character in the upcoming 100th episode… <\/p>

Next month Death in Paradise<\/a> is set to air its landmark 100th episode \u2013 but it looks like there will be cause for grave concern among fans amidst the celebrations.<\/p>\n

That\u2019s because a brief new synopsis for the episode reveals that Don Warrington\u2019s beloved character Commissioner Selwyn Patterson, who has appeared in every series of the show, will be left in mortal danger.<\/p>\n

According to the BBC, the episode will open with Selwyn celebrating fifty years of police service, before he is \u201cleft fighting for his life as he\u2019s dramatically shot by a mysterious assassin\u201d.<\/p>\n

The synopsis continues: \u201cAs the team and island alike are left in despair, the question remains: will Selwyn survive?\u201d<\/p>

Fans will have to wait to tune into the episode on Sunday 4th February before they get any definitive answers, but Selwyn would certainly be a huge loss for the show if he doesn\u2019t manage to pull through.<\/p>\n

A host of new guest stars<\/a> for the episode \u2013 including Outlander<\/a>\u2018s Leon Herbert and Boiling Point<\/a>\u2018s Cathy Tyson \u2013 were also recently announced, while fans have been treated to a teaser of some other storylines set to feature in season 13.<\/p>\n
