The star wants more adventures for the Mallard family. <\/p>
Illumination\u2019s latest animated film, Migration, arrives in UK cinemas this week, telling the story of a family of ducks who get lost in New York City after they attempt to fly from their tranquil home in New England to the more exotic climes of Jamaica.<\/p>\n
An immensely star-studded voice cast has been assembled to bring the characters to life \u2013 with the likes of Kumail Nanjiani, Elizabeth Banks, Keegan-Michael Key, Awkwafina and Danny DeVito all given starring roles.<\/p>\n
And a couple of those stars are already eyeing up more adventures for the Mallard clan, as Banks revealed during an exclusive interview with RadioTimes.com<\/a>.<\/p>\n Asked about the possibility of further films, she responded: \u201cOh, we\u2019re going to Europe. You know, that\u2019s the next\u2026 we\u2019re definitely doing the Mediterranean, I think.\u201d<\/p> Later, she added, \u201cWe\u2019re going to Paris,\u201d while Nanjiani revealed, \u201cI would love to do many, many more.\u201d<\/p>\n The comments should be taken with a pinch of salt for now, but it\u2019s certainly possible that a sequel could be in the offing, given Illumination\u2019s track record for turning their animated films into larger franchises \u2013 as has been the case with Despicable Me, Sing and The Secret Life of Pets.<\/p>\n If there is a follow-up, it\u2019s unlikely the stars would have to face the same obstacles they did this time around, given much of production was completed during lockdown \u2013 and so they had to record their dialogue from home.<\/p>\n Read more:<\/strong><\/p>\n Nanjiani joked about how he struggled to build the voice booth he\u2019d been sent by the production team, while he also commented about how it made the process of improvising much more challenging.<\/p>\n \u201cThey really encouraged us to improvise, which is very difficult to do without another actor there,\u201d he said. \u201cIt\u2019s much harder when you just have to, like, imagine what you might say.\u201d<\/p>\n And he also revealed that one of the lines he improvised was given away to another actor, much to his dismay.<\/p>\n \u201cThere was one line I improvised, and then I saw the movie and they had given it to another character,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n And when Banks asked him if he would let that go, he joked: \u201cNo! I\u2019ve honestly been carrying it for the last six months.\u201d<\/p>\n\n
