Some of our fave armchair critics will be back to give their commentary on the latest television shows, from the biggest news stories, to the most embarrassing TV moments, hugely gripping dramas and tear-jerking documentaries.<\/p>\n
Sadly, there\u2019s been some changes to the cast this year. Several Gogglebox families have exited the show, following the deaths of stars Pete, Mary and Andy<\/a>.<\/p>\n In June, Pete McGarry, who regularly appeared alongside his wife Linda, passed away after a short illness. His wife Linda has since stepped down from the show.<\/p>\n Two months later in August, Mary Cook died in hospital at the age of 92. She had been a huge favourite among fans after joining the show in 2016, and appearing alongside her friend Marina Wingrove. Marina won\u2019t appear on the new series.<\/p>\n The same month, Gogglebox announced that Andy Michael had died aged 61, following a short illness. Andy had been part of the show since the first series aired in 2013, taking part with his wife Carolyne and their children Louis, Alex, Katie and Pascal. The family have decided to step away from the series, following their loss.<\/p>\n Executive Producer Victoria Ray has said, however, that the door will remain open for affected cast members if they wish to return later down the line.<\/p>\n Here\u2019s everything you need to know about the Gogglebox cast for 2021.<\/p>\n The couple who \u2013 like The Moffatts \u2013 hail from County Durham, are the only new cast members this series.<\/p>\n The duo was introduced to millions of viewers at home as \u201ca couple who have been married for 50 years\u201d.<\/p>\n And it\u2019s clear love is still in the air. On their very first appearance on the show, Ken presented Anne with a bouquet of roses \u2013 one for every year they\u2019ve been together.<\/p>\n The creative couple have become firm favourites with viewers for their quirky style and furniture \u2013 one of their armchairs matches their wallpaper.<\/p>\n It\u2019s also believed the pair are close pals of Boris Johnson and his sister Rachel.<\/p>\n What are their real jobs? <\/strong>Giles is an artist and Mary is best known for being the Spectator\u2019s resident agony aunt as well as a self-styled queen of etiquette.<\/p>\n Instagram:<\/strong> @ellie__warner<\/a> and @izziwarner<\/a><\/p>\n Twitter:<\/strong> @ellieandizzi<\/a><\/p>\n Sisters Ellie and Lizzi from Leeds first joined the show back in 2015, and were originally worried about whether viewers would be interested in them.<\/p>\n Five years on, and the self-confessed \u201ccouch potatoes\u201d are one of the most popular duos on the show, cracking us up with their hilarious banter and love of food.<\/p>\n What are their real jobs?<\/strong> Izzi is a mum-of-two to five-year-old son Bobby and newborn baby Bessie Rose. Her elder sister, Ellie, is a hairdresser in Leeds.<\/p> Twitter:<\/strong> @Leegogglebox<\/a><\/p>\n The hilarious pair film Gogglebox inside a caravan in Hull. And while many think they\u2019re mother and son or husband and wife, they\u2019re actually just friends.<\/p>\n They landed their spot on the show when Jenny met two of the show\u2019s researchers at Beverley Races Ladies\u2019 Day and they reportedly signed her up on the spot.<\/p>\n They share a Twitter account, which is worth a follow.<\/p>\n What are their real jobs? <\/strong>It\u2019s not clear caravan besties Jenny and Lee do for a living, however, they met when Jenny was the landlady of the Crown Inn pub in Paull and Lee was a regular customer.<\/p>\n Instagram:<\/strong> @amira_gogglebox<\/a><\/p>\n Twitter:<\/strong> @Amirasrota<\/a> and @JustIqs<\/a><\/p>\n The two friends from London first joined the show in series 10 with their friend Amani, however Amira and Iqra now appear as a duo \u2013 oh, and with the cat.<\/p>\n Their infectious giggles have us in stitches.<\/p>\n Instagram:<\/strong> @sandifordpete<\/a> and @sophiesandiford1<\/a><\/p>\n Twitter:<\/strong> @PeteandSophie<\/a><\/p>\n Jobs: <\/strong>Sophie works as a shop window dresser in Blackpool, while Pete reportedly has a job in insurance.<\/p>\n Although they\u2019re quite new to the show, having joined in 2018, Pete and Sophie have made a great impression on viewers.<\/p>\n The brother and sister duo have us in fits of laughter with their take on the week\u2019s TV.<\/p>\n Im 2021, Pete became a dad for the first time.<\/p>\n Instagram:<\/strong> @thesiddiquis<\/a><\/p>\n Twitter: <\/strong>@goggleboxsid<\/a>, @baasitsiddiqui<\/a>, @umarksiddiqui<\/a><\/p>\n Baasit, Umar and their dad Sid are regulars on the show and much-loved by viewers. The family hail from Derby and others members of the family, such as sibling Raza and mum often make an appearance as well.<\/p>\n What are their real jobs?<\/strong> Retired Sid qualified as a Power Engineer from the University of Derby and previously worked for the NHS for 37 years. Umar has worked in the NHS as a Biomedical Scientist in Microbiology at the Royal Derby Hospital for close to 17 years, while\u00a0Baasit has been a teacher in a secondary school since 2007.<\/p>\n Twitter: <\/strong>@thegoggleboxbros<\/a><\/p>\n Instagram:<\/strong> @trissy101<\/a>, @twaineaplummer<\/a>, @trem_vi<\/a><\/p>\n Brothers Tremaine, Twaine and Tristan Plummer joined Gogglebox in series eight.<\/p>\n They film from their home in Bristol, and are sports mad, with Tristan even playing semi-professionally from Bristol FC between 2007 and 2010.<\/p>\n What are their real jobs?\u00a0<\/strong>Tristan is a winger for Hereford FC and Twaine plays for Bradford Town, while Tremaine is a chef.<\/p>\n The pair joined in 2012, although they haven\u2019t revealed much about their private lives on the show.<\/p>\n Beryl did, however, mention that John retired around 12 years ago.<\/p>\n Twitter:<\/strong> @DaveAndShirley<\/a><\/p>\n David and Shirley have been married for 40 years and have two children together. They joined the show in 2015, and film from the comfort of their home in Wales.<\/p>\n What are their real jobs?\u00a0 <\/strong>Dave, 62, is a cleaner in a factory, and Shirley, 62, works in retail. Dave is also a keen baker on the side, so we could well be seeing him on The Great British Bake Off<\/a>, if he has his way!<\/p>\n Twitter:<\/strong> @MicaAndTheGang<\/a><\/p>\n South Londoners Marcus, Mica, Sachelle and Shuggy joined\u00a0Gogglebox\u00a0in series 11.<\/p>\n Their outgoing personalities and Marcus\u2019 hilarious comments have made them very popular on the show.<\/p>\n Another pair of Gogglebox members from Durham are Abbie and Georgia. The friends have been on the show since 2018. Their classic moments are numerous but they are best known for reacting to that John Lewis ad in 2018 when they questioned whether Your Song was first performed by Ellie Goulding or Elton John\u2026<\/p>\n Twitter:<\/strong> @Paige_deville<\/a><\/p>\n Mother and daughter duo Paige and Sally \u2013 who hail from Birmingham \u2013 joined the show last year.<\/p>\n What are their real jobs?<\/strong> While mum Sally, 53, cares for the disabled and elderly, Paige, 23, works as a business development manager.<\/p>\n Twitter:<\/strong> @TheMalonesGB<\/a><\/p>\n One of the longest-serving families on the show, having joined back in series four, The Malone family is a firm fan-favourite.<\/p>\n They\u2019re known for the straight-to-the-point remarks, huge food portions and adorable dogs who aren\u2019t camera shy.<\/p>\n As of series 17, Tom Jnr will no longer appear on the Channel 4 show.<\/p>\n What are their real jobs? <\/strong>Tom Sr is a lorry driver, mum Julie is a receptionist. Tom Jnr is a freelance model and street dance choreographer \u2013 he\u2019s even performed with the Black Eyed Peas and appeared in Billy Elliott until he turned his hand to coaching football.<\/p>\n Twitter:<\/strong> @Stephenwebb71<\/a> and @lustig75<\/a><\/p>\n Stephen first appeared on Gogglebox along with his then-boyfriend Chris. However, the pair split and he\u2019s now joined by husband Daniel who first started appearing in 2019. Daniel has now left the show after parting ways with Stephen.<\/p>\n What are their real jobs?<\/strong> In real life Stephen is a hairdresser in Brighton.<\/p>\n Alison and her husband George joined the series in series 10 alongside their daughter, Helena. The family, who reside in Manchester, welcomed a new addition to the family earlier this year after Helena gave birth to baby boy, Edwin. Mary and Marina joined the show in 2016, and quickly became faves on the show.<\/p>\n Despite their age, the ladies were young at heart, and weren\u2019t afraid to have a laugh. They often got distracted talking about their love lives.<\/p>\n In August 2021, Gogglebox favourite Mary Cook died aged 92<\/a>.<\/p>\n Marina decided to step away from the series, as she penned a heartfelt message to her friend.<\/p>\n A tribute from Marina to Mary. Scarlett was the stand-out star of Gogglebox, however, her time on the show came when she signed up for I\u2019m A Celebrity\u2026 Get Me Out of Here!<\/a> in 2016. She went on to win the show and has since landed several jobs on Ant and Dec\u2019s Saturday Night Takeaway and Channel 4\u2019s rebooted dating show Streetmate.<\/p>\n She originally joined Gogglebox with her parents Betty and Mark back in 2014, and was known for her hilarious one-liners. Following her exit from the Channel 4 show, her parents subsequently left.<\/p>\n Iconic duo Sandi and Sandra won viewers over with their constantly-changing hairstyles, exciting wardrobes, unusual TV snacks and even bigger personalities. Sadly, they decided to split up (on telly that is) and Sandra\u2019s daughter Chanchez replaced Sandi. Sandra then quit the show in 2017.<\/p>\n Sandi is a mother of two and grandmother of five, who previously owned some wine bars in South London and used to sing at the Tower in Blackpool with Larry Grayson. Sandra has four children and three grandchildren.<\/p>\n The pair haven\u2019t been seen on Gogglebox for a while. However, outside of the show, they have pretty impressive lives. Bill is a Cambridge maths graduate, journalist and former British Chess Champion,\u00a0while Josef is an accountant who also happens to be a World Cluedo and Scottish Monopoly Champion.<\/p>\n The Woerdenweber Family are best known for Ralf\u2019s humour and Jay, the (now ex-)boyfriend of Eve who sat on the sofa and never spoke.<\/p>\n Mum Viv has her own tattoo studio while daughter Eve runs a New Age shop nearby, selling incense, oils and Pagan jewellery.<\/p>\n From 2014 to 2016, the couple spent evenings sitting on the sofa watching telly with their greyhound Buster. Rev. Kate and Graham have been together 22 years and have two children. They left the show after two years and since then,\u00a0 Kate has become quite the TV star.<\/p>\n She\u2019s a regular presenter on BBC One\u2019s Songs of Praise, and was a contestant on Celebrity MasterChef in 2017. She\u2019s also a radio host.<\/p>\n George was known for appearing on the show with his mum Linda and stepdad Pete.<\/p>\n He\u00a0 left the show in 2014 to appear on Celebrity Big Brother, before returning to the show two years later. However he later quit once again.<\/p>\n Linda and Pete returned to the show as a couple in 2016, however, in June 2021, it was revealed that Gogglebox star Pete McGarry had died aged 71 after a short illness<\/a>.<\/p>\n Sharing a statement, Channel 4 said: \u201cWe are deeply saddened to announce that Gogglebox star Pete McGarry passed away at the age of 71 this weekend with his family by his side after a short illness.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cPete, his wife Linda and her son George originally joined Gogglebox at the start of the second series in 2013. The Clacton couple returned to the show for the seventh series in 2016 and have been series regulars and firm favourites ever since. Pete will be dearly missed by the entire Gogglebox family, cast and crew.\u201d<\/p>\n The super loud family-of -four from North London had their spot on Gogglebox taken away after Amy\u2019s stint on Celebs Go Dating, due to the producers \u201cno celebs\u201d rule.<\/p>\n Parents Nikki and Jonathon recently celebrated their 23rd wedding anniversary. Jonathon \u2013 a chauffer \u2013\u00a0 also shed an incredible 3st 7lbs, and is almost unrecognisable from his Gogglebox days.
