Natalie Quarry revealed more about her character at this year’s Radio Times Covers Party. <\/p>
It looks as though Call the Midwife<\/a> newcomer Rosalind<\/a> (Natalie Quarry) will continue to forge her own path in the series, according to the actress.<\/p>\n Speaking at the Radio Times<\/strong> Covers Party 2024 on Tuesday 30th January, Quarry spoke exclusively to RadioTimes.com<\/a> about the struggles that Rosalind will be facing in the near future.<\/p>\n She revealed: \u201cI think that Roz kind of faces some struggles with how invested she gets with patients and how much time she wishes\u2026 I feel like she should take on them, but [it\u2019s] maybe to the detriment of her own wellbeing.<\/p>\n \u201cAlso, her tendency to kind of run into things and say things that maybe she shouldn\u2019t have said, like in the previous episode with Sister Monica Joan, she kind of just says stuff without thinking about it, that maybe is not the best thing to say.<\/p>\n \u201cI think that that comes up here and there \u2013 things for her to sit back and think about, for sure.\u201d<\/p> Returning to our screens for its 13th season, Call the Midwife continues to grip viewers with its topical storylines and comfort watch feel, and this season has also seen the arrival of new student midwives, Rosalind and Joyce (played by Renee Bailey).<\/p>\n As mentioned by Quarry, last week\u2019s episode saw her student midwife come under her three month review, with Sisters Julienne and Shelagh and Nurse Crane all delighted with the scheme and how well Rosalind and Joyce are getting on.<\/p>\n However, they did all note that both pupils have areas of practice that would benefit from improvement, with one of Rosalind\u2019s being self-confidence. Will Rosalind manage to turn it around and improve in that area?<\/p>\n Read more:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n We\u2019ll have to wait and see, but it certainly seems as though the newcomer is getting close to her patients \u2013 but could it be to her later detriment?<\/p>\n As is often the case with the beloved BBC series, sometimes these things have a habit of rearing their heads later down the line.<\/p>\n Previously speaking about her character to Radio Times magazine<\/strong><\/a>, Quarry said: \u201cShe\u2019s honest, loyal, open and kind, emotionally invested in other people \u2013 perhaps too much \u2013 and excited and grateful to be part of Nonnatus House.<\/p>\n \u201cShe has had quite a closeted upbringing, but has the attitude of \u2018just got to get on with it\u2019 \u2013 which is quite British, and probably good for her job.\u201d<\/p>\n See more photos from the Radio Times Covers Party 2024 in the new issue of Radio Times magazine, on sale Tuesday 6th February.<\/strong><\/p>\n Call the Midwife returns to BBC One at 8pm on Sunday 4th February 2024.
