France and reigning Six Nations champions Ireland kick off their tournaments in Marseille on Friday.<\/p>\n
Title holders Ireland defeated France 32-19 in Dublin last February en route to becoming Grand Slam champions.<\/p>\n
Both sides unexpectedly crashed out of the World Cup at the quarter-final stage to eventual finalists New Zealand and South Africa, though, and each have lost their most influential player.<\/p>\n
Ireland\u2019s generational fly-half Johnny Sexton said goodbye to rugby union after the World Cup, leaving the reins to Munster\u2019s Jack Crowley.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, France\u2019s star scrum-half Antoine Dupont has elected to miss this year\u2019s tournament in favour of playing for the nation\u2019s sevens side as practice for the Paris Olympics this summer.<\/p>\n
France and Ireland have put themselves ahead of the rest of the Six Nations pack in the last few years, with Ireland clinching last year\u2019s title and France winning in 2022.<\/p>\n
