Megan Cusack spoke about her Call the Midwife future exclusively with RadioTimes.com. <\/p>
Along with plenty of twists, drama and tension, Call the Midwife<\/a> can bring us many surprises in the form of character departures, plot lines and entrances.<\/p>\n For that reason, speaking about the future of the series can often be something that comes with its fair amount of uncertainty \u2013 especially concerning where the Poplar-based drama will take its characters.<\/p>\n When asked about her future on the series, Megan Cusack (who stars as Nancy) exclusively told RadioTimes.com<\/a> at the Radio Times <\/strong>Covers Party 2024 about how much she truly loves the cast and crew of the long-running show.<\/p>\n Cusack said: \u201cYou never want to leave. I mean, the entire cast and crew, they are like a family. I know everyone says that, but it\u2019s very true.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m heading off for lunch with one of my drivers on Friday, they are genuinely the people I want to see all the time, and they\u2019ve been there for me through highs and lows in my personal life.<\/p>\n \u201cBut it is that thing \u2013 you never know where a story\u2019s going, and that\u2019s hard. It\u2019s something you have to accept, but no, I love being there, they\u2019re amazing.\u201d<\/p> Nancy\u2019s story has certainly gotten more dramatic, as in last Sunday\u2019s episode, we saw that the young nurse had managed to track down one of the nuns at the convent where she grew up.<\/p>\n Although she had an inkling about her family having tuberculosis<\/a> earlier in the episode, Nancy\u2019s thoughts were confirmed when she learned from the nun that her entire family did contract the disease \u2013 but she may have survived due to vaccination or natural immunity.<\/p>\n Read more:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n It was an emotional episode for viewers at home but also for the actress, who revealed to RadioTimes.com<\/strong> that it was just as much of a rollercoaster reading the script for the first time.<\/p>\n She revealed: \u201cI remember reading it, and I was like, \u2018Oh, my God.\u2019 You get, like, a little bit of backstory on you as a person, but you don\u2019t always know the full ins and outs.<\/p>\n \u201cSo reading the script, it was like, \u2018Oh, my God.\u2019 And then when she goes and she meets the woman in the house, it was very emotional.<\/p>\n \u201cAnd the woman who played [Kathleen, Mary Larkin], she was amazing, she was gorgeous.
